This study adopts the perspective of social integration to explore the current status of mental health issues among college students and their influencing factors, and proposes corresponding intervention strategies. The study finds that issues such as academic pressure, employment difficulties, interpersonal adaptation, and cultural identity have had adverse effects on the mental health of college students, leading to mental health risks such as anxiety, depression, and sleep problems. The main factors affecting the mental health of college students include family economic status, family social class, parental child-rearing practices, adult attachment, social support, and social networks. Social integration affects the mental health of college students through the formation of attachment relationships, the performance of social roles, community-level integration, and the acquisition of social support. In response to these issues, this study proposes a diversified range of intervention strategies: first, by educating on love and interpersonal relationships, a secure attachment style and healthy interpersonal relationships among college students are cultivated;second, emphasis is placed on role adaptation and self-identity to help students understand and adapt to social roles, and enhance self-awareness;third, by promoting school-level social integration, through organizing a variety of campus activities and creating an inclusive campus atmosphere, students’ sense of campus belonging is enhanced;and finally, a multi-dimensional social support network is established, encompassing support from family, peer, and professional counseling, as well as policy and funding guarantees. The implementation of these strategies requires the concerted efforts of colleges, families, society, and policy levels to promote the mental health and overall development of college students.
