Gifted revolves around the family educational problems and growth experiences of the girl who has extremely high mathematical talent. On the surface, Mary’s grandmother and uncle compete for her custody, but in essence, it is the projection of two different educational ideas. Finally, two adults found the correct way of education that respected Mary’s ideas. This paper introduces the conflict and reconciliation between generations of Mary’s family, analyzes the psychological projection of three generations, and the influence of different educational methods on family relations, which reflects the importance of believing in children’s potential and empathy for promoting parents to treat projection effect correctly, enhancing generational relations, facilitating children’s meaningful learning, and shaping their personality.
