“Solid-State Electronics and Optoelectronics” is a compulsory foundational course for the Electronic Science and Technology major, laying the groundwork for subsequent specialized courses in semiconductor devices. Traditional “spoon-feeding” teaching methods often fail to stimulate students’ active learning enthusiasm and critical thinking abilities. Therefore, adhering to the student-centered teaching principle, this paper introduces the BOPPPS teaching concept into the teaching practices of “Solid-State Electronics and Optoelectronics.” By using specific chapter knowledge points as examples, it demonstrates the organic integration of the six elements of the BOPPPS teaching model with the teaching content, aiming to promote interaction between teachers and students in the classroom, enhance student engagement and professional competence, and cultivate their critical thinking skills. Through this teaching approach, students can gain a deeper understanding of the complex concepts and principles in “Solid-State Electronics and Optoelectronics” and apply the knowledge learned to solve practical problems.
