The AI chatbot ChatGPT has taken the world by storm and had a profound impact on education. This study mainly focuses on students, teachers and various social figures to explore the impact of ChatGPT on language learning and countermeasures. Our study shows that ChatGPT is a “double- edged sword” for language learning, and it has advantages and disadvantages in the academic field of education, the media field and the public administration field. Based on data comparison and relevant literature, this study proposes coping strategies and suggestions for language learners based on ChatGPT.
