补偿性媒介理论视角下媒介平台的功能构建

The Functional Construction of Media Platforms from the Perspective of Compensatory Media Theory

传播学媒介环境学派代表人物保罗•莱文森提出补偿性媒介理论,认为任何新媒介都是对旧媒介功能的补救。在当前媒体融合背景下,媒介平台化是大众传媒转型的热门方向。作为大众传媒进阶后的“新媒介”,媒介平台在内容功能、服务功能以及媒介角色等方面对大众传媒进行了补偿。本文以社区性平台小红书作为分析对象,以补偿性媒介理论为视角,探究媒介平台的功能建构。

Paul Levinson, the representative of the media environment school of communication studies, proposed the compensatory media theory, believing that any new media is a remedy for the old media function. In the current context of media integration, media platformization is a popular direction for mass media transformation. As a “new medium” after the advancement of mass media, media platforms have compensated for mass media in terms of content functions, service functions, and media roles. This article takes the community platform Xiaohongshu as the analysis object, and explores the functional construction of media platforms from the perspective of compensatory media theory.
