The period drama The Sea in Dream tells the story of the period from a young perspective. Through the application of three narrative arts, namely linear narrative, characterization, and national narrative, it slowly unfolds the picture of social change with the passage of time, and presents the transformation, choice, persistence and struggle of young people in the growth of the times through the use of line laying, contrast, metaphorical narrative techniques and new narrative perspectives. Finally, the narrative technique of clutch and growth is used to show the close connection between people’s grief and joy and the changes of the times.
