Literary pragmatics is widely applied in the literary appreciation and criticism by integrating pragmatic theories with literary theories. Based on relevant pragmatic theories, this paper, through a literary pragmatic analysis of some dialogues excerpted from La Ronde et autresFaits Divers of J.M.G. Le Clézio, attempts to dig out its pragmatic appeal and reveal the depth of the work so as to better understand and appreciate the novel.
