由于地理位置、民俗风情、审美差异、历史背景等多方面因素,中西方文化存在着多种差异。语言作为人类文化的重要载体,以及人类重要的沟通交流工具,能够很大程度地体现中西方文化差异。词汇则是语言最基础的单位,是它的重要组成部分,文化差异在词汇层面表现得较为明显,涉及面也较广。本文将列举部分中西方植物名词,试图分析其文化内涵,比较中西方文化差异,为实现更有效的中西方文化交流提供借鉴。

Because of geographical location, folk customs, aesthetic differences, historical background and other multi-faceted factors, there are many differences between Chinese and Western cultures. As an important carrier of human culture, and also the significant communication tool for human beings, language can largely reflect the cultural differences between Chinese and Western cultures. Vocabulary is the most basic unit of language and also an important part of it. It is obvious that different cultures have different vocabularies and different cultures also involve many aspects at the lexical level. This paper will list some Chinese and Western plant words, trying to analyze their cultural connotations and compare the cultural differences between China and the West, and provide reference for more effective cultural communication between China and the West.
