“对了”与By the Way的话语标记功能比较

The Comparison of the Discourse Function between “Duile” and By the Way

作为典型的话题转移标记,“对了”和by the way在翻译中对译程度非常高,且二者在功能上存在很大程度上的对等性,但目前学界还未注意到这一语言现象,因而缺乏二者的比较研究。本文通过跨语言比较,探究二者在话语功能上的主要共同点与细微差异。研究发现的共同点是:在人际交往中,二者都具有提示、委婉礼貌功能,且在语篇中,二者都具有补充新信息的作用;在话语组织上,除了典型的转移话题功能外,二者还可以用于开启话题和延展话题。差异在于:在人际功能上,by the way很少具有认同激活作用;在话语组织上,“对了”很少用于结束话题。

As typical topic shifters, “by the way” and “duile” are usually translated into each other and they are very similar in pragmatic function textual function. However, nobody has noticed this linguistic phenomenon so far and there is a lack of comparative study between them. Through cross language comparison, we aimed to find out the similarities and differences between the two in terms of pragmatic textual function. In our research, we find that their similarities are: in interpersonal communication, both of them have the function of prompt and concession politeness, and both of them have the function of supplementing new information in discourse;in discourse organization, both of them can be used to open, transfer and extend topics. The differences are: in interpersonal function, by the way is seldom used to identity activation;in discourse organization, “duile” is rarely used to end a topic.
