政治话语隐喻及翻译——基于中国国家领导人著作的历时分析

Diachronic Research and Its Translation Study of Political Discourse Metaphor Based on Works of China’s Leaders

在国际浪潮推动下,中国政治话语对外传播势在必行。政治隐喻作为政治话语的重要载体,在传递中国理念中起着举足轻重的作用。本文从历时角度出发,考察中国国家领导人著作、讲话选集的政治隐喻的使用类型、特征,对其历时趋势进行剖析,进一步梳理文本中政治隐喻翻译策略及变化。研究发现:在党发展的不同时期的领导人著作中,均出现了各类隐喻,但不同隐喻类型的使用比例会随时代变迁有所起伏;战争隐喻、旅行隐喻、建筑隐喻一直为频繁使用;译文主要应用保留喻体、删除喻体、转换喻体、添加喻体,翻译策略的选择性应用塑造了对政治话语的多元化解读。研究旨在探讨中央文献政治隐喻使用的变化趋势和外译策略,以期为提高新时代党和国家国际影响力提供借鉴,对中央文献翻译实践带来一定启示。

Driven by the international tide, it is imperative for Chinese political discourse to spread abroad. As an important carrier of political discourse, political metaphor plays an important role in the transmission of Chinese governance ideas. From a diachronic perspective, this paper attempts to investigate the types and characteristics of political metaphors used in the works and speeches of state leaders, analyze their changing trends, and further sort out the translation strategies and its changes of Political Metaphors in the texts. It is found that: in the leaders’ works of different periods of the party’s development, there are all kinds of metaphors, but the proportion of different types of metaphors will fluctuate with the changes of the times;among them, war metaphors, journey metaphors and architectural metaphors have been frequently used;with regard to the four specific methods for translating SL vehicles, the maintenance of SL vehicles, the deletion of SL vehicles, the replacement SL vehicles and the addition of TL vehicles shape the diversified interpretation of political discourse. The purpose of this study is to explore the diachronic changes in the use of Political Metaphors in the central government’s literature and the translation strategies, so as to provide reference for improving the international influence of the party and the country in the new era and bring some enlightenment to the translation practice of the central government’s literature.
