从美国乡村音乐和嘻哈音乐看英语使用的种族差异

A Comparative Study of Racial Differences in the Use of English from American Country Music and Hip-Hop Music

种族对语言的影响至关重要,同一种语言被不同种族的人使用时会有巨大的差异。美国是一个多民族国家,英语在被白人种族和黑人种族使用时,二者之间会有所不同。本文分别收集近5年billboard年榜上50首乡村和嘻哈歌曲,以此为语料库,旨在将白人乐种代表——乡村音乐与黑人乐种代表——嘻哈音乐进行对比。利用语料库检索软件Antconc进行数据分析,从而找出两个不同种族之间英语表达的差异。这不仅可以帮助我们更好地理解美国文化,也可以帮助我们更加清晰明了地理解种族对语言的影响。

Race plays a crucial role in language, and there are huge differences between people of different races who speak the same language. The United States is a multi-ethnic country, and English is used differently by white and black races. This paper collected 50 country and hip hop songs on the Billboard Year-End Charts Hot 100 in recent 5 years respectively as a corpus, aiming to com-pare the representative of white music—country music and the representative of black music—hip hop music. Data analysis is conducted by using the corpus retrieval software Antconc to find out the differences in English expressions between two different races. This will not only help us to better understand American culture, but also help us to more clearly understand the influence of race on language.
