及物性视角下《新时代的中国青年》英译本的中国青年形象分析

An Analysis of the Image of Chinese Youth in the English Translation of Youth of China in the New Era from the Perspective of Transitivity

《新时代的中国青年》是我国首次就中国青年群体发布的白皮书,由此塑造和展示的中国青年形象是一个重要的研究话题。本文借助UAM Corpus Tool 3.3v,对《新时代的中国青年》英译版语篇进行及物性分析,以探讨其构建的新时代的中国青年形象。研究发现,物质过程占比最高,其次为关系过程、行为过程、心理过程和言语过程,而存在过程占比最小,塑造了新时代的中国青年刚健自信、胸怀天下、堪当大任的形象。本文将有助于有关青年形象文本的翻译研究,丰富语言学视角下的中国青年形象自我建构研究。

Youth of China in the New Era is China’s first white paper on the Chinese youth population, and the image of Chinese youth thus shaped and presented is an important topic of study. With the help of UAM Corpus Tool 3.3v, this paper conducts a transitivity analysis of the English translation of Youth of China in the New Era to explore its construction of the image of Chinese youth in a new age. The study found that the material process accounted for the highest proportion, followed by relational, behavioral, psychological, and verbal processes, with existential processes accounting for the smallest proportion. It has shaped the image of Chinese youth in the new era as robust, confident, with an open mind and a sense of responsibility. This paper will contribute to the study of translations of texts related to Chinese youth’s image and enrich the study of the self-construction of the image of Chinese youth from a linguistic perspective.
