评价理论态度系统视角下习近平在中国国际进口博览会上的中英致辞对比研究

A Comparative Study of Xi Jinping’s Chinese-English Remarks of China International Import Expo from the Perspective of the Appraisal Theory Attitude System

摘要 笔者以习近平在第五届中国国际进口博览会开幕式上的中英致辞《共创开放繁荣的美好未来》为研究语料,基于评价理论态度系统,对语料中的态度资源分布频数进行对比研究,来探析译者是否实现了与原文一致的态度意义。研究发现,译文中的态度资源较原文有所增加,因为译文增译多处情感资源,体现出中国愿以开放与各国共谋发展的意愿;基于政治语篇翻译忠实于原文的原则,译文中的判断资源数量和占比与原文基本一致,主要是译者要准确地传达出原文的话语意义;鉴赏资源的数量和比例较原文有些许增加,以此可使目的语读者更好地理解原文传递的中国愿与各国共创开放繁荣的美好未来的重要意义。 Taking Xi Jinping’s remarks “Working Together for a Bright Future openness and prosperity” at the opening ceremony of the Fifth China International Import Expo as the research corpus, a comparative study was conducted to examine whether the translators achieved the same speech effect as the original text by comparing the frequency of the distribution of attitudinal resources in the Chinese and English texts from the perspective of the Appraisal Theory attitude system. The study finds that the attitudinal resources in the translated text have increased compared with those in the original text because the translation has increased the affect resources to enable the target language readers to understand China’s determination to seek development with other countries with opening;based on the principle that the translation of political discourse is faithful to the original text, the number and ratio of judgment resources in the translated text are nearly the same as those in the original text, mainly because the translator wants to accurately convey the words of the original text;the number and ratio of appreciation resources have increased compared with those in the original text. The number and proportion of appreciation resources have increased compared with the original text, mainly because the translator makes the target language readers better understand the significance of China’s inclination to cooperate with other countries for a bright future.
