The core of Uyghur national culture is captured in proverbs. This paper examines how readers of second languages comprehend the meaning construction of Uyghur proverbs by listing examples and applying conceptual blending theory. It discovers that conceptual blending theory complements translation techniques and offers a new research angle for the investigation of the Chinese translation of Uyghur proverbs.
