目的论视角下开封市旅游景点简介英译研究

A Study on the English Translation of Tourist Attraction Introductions in Kaifeng from the Perspective of Skopos Theory

开封作为八朝古都,有着浓厚的历史文化和丰富的旅游资源,也吸引着越来越多外国游客的注意。而旅游景点的介绍是海外游客了解景点的第一步。但是开封市涉外旅游业的发展还不健全,现有景点介绍英译文本存在许多错误表达,这些表达严重影响了外国游客的体验感。本论文以目的论作为理论指导对开封旅游景点简介的英译进行研究。通过分析景点简介英译文本中存在的错误,分析出其主要原因是译者对翻译目的的意识有所欠缺,对文本功能的忽视以及跨文化意识薄弱。为了实现开封旅游景点简介翻译的目的,英译文本中应相应地运用增译、省略、改译和直译等策略,希望能够提升开封旅游景点简介英译文本的质量并促进开封旅游业的发展。

As the ancient capital of eight Dynasties, Kaifeng has a rich historical culture and tourism re-sources, which also attract more and more foreign tourists’ attention. And the introduction of tourist attractions is the first step for overseas tourists to appreciate the attractions. However, the development of foreign-related tourism in Kaifeng is not sound, and there are many errors and inappropriate expressions in the translations available now, and these expressions seriously affect the experience of tourism for foreign tourists. This thesis takes Skopos theory as framework to analysis the English translation of the introductions of Kaifeng tourist attractions. By analyzing the errors in the English version of the introduction to the tourist attractions in Kaifeng, it is demonstrated that the causes behind the errors are mainly translators’ inadequate awareness of translation purposes, their ignorance of the text functions and inadequate cross-cultural awareness. In order to realize the purpose of the translation of Kaifeng tourist attraction introductions, translation strategies such as addition, omission, adaptation and literal translation should be used accordingly in the English translation of the text with the hope to improve the quality of the English translation of Kaifeng tourist attractions and promote the development of tourism in Kaifeng.
