Solutions to environmental issues such as climate action and sustainability are inseparable from the traditional wisdom of indigenous peoples. A Quebec indigenous environmental speech from a TED talk was used as the corpus for discourse analysis based on a two-layer analysis framework of Harmonious Discourse Analysis (HDA, for short). At the micro level, the discourse is marked and counted with the UAM Corpus Tool 6.2 according to the transitivity system, and the linguistic features are analyzed. At the macro level, the central ecological thought and ecological view of the indigenous people embedded in the speech are explored in the context of the research assumptions and three analysis principles of the HDA, i.e., “If we take care of the land, the land takes care of us”. It also verifies the feasibility of HDA in different discourses from the world perspective and broadens the scope of applied research of the theory.
