Research on Andersen’s Fairy Tales only either focuses on its influence on Chinese children litera-ture, its relationship with Andersen himself or his original intention of creating it, seldomly con-centrating on the different Chinese translational versions. However, even the Chinese translational versions vary from one aspect to another. This paper, taking the translational version of Zhao Jingshen and Ye Junjian as examples, based on Hans Vemeer’s skopostheory, tries to analyze how the Chinese translational version of Andersen’s Fairy Tales vary from with each other, in what aspect do they vary, and how the skopostheory play the role in these two translational versions. What has been found is that not only the target reader will affect the translator’s version, but also the time translator lives in and translator’s understanding towards the source text will take the same effect.
