Lu Xun’s semi-vernacular novel The True Story of Ah Q is a famous piece in the history of Chinese literature and one of Lu Xun’s representative works. Due to the large use of ancient Chinese, the ar-ticle not only brings great confusion to modern Chinese readers, but also makes it difficult for for-eign readers to have a glimpse of its meaning in the translated English. This paper takes two trans-lations of Lu Xun’s first novel, The True Story of Ah Q, as an example. According to the translation of Yang Xianyi and his wife and William Le, the author discusses the aesthetic value and the signifi-cance of the translated article on the aesthetic value and thematic implication of the translation ar-ticle in the language style of The True Story of Ah Q.
