The folklore of Liangzhu, one of China’s four major folk stories, is a fascinating and influential oral art listed among the national intangible cultural heritage that has evolved into such various artistic forms as opera, music, dance, film and television series, picture book, comic and online game which help it to grow and spread at home and abroad. This paper attempts to collect its multimodal texts mainly in terms of intramodal translation and intermodal translation based on its four tale types from the perspective of the multimodal translation theory plus a multimodal discourse analysis of The Love Eterne as an example in hopes of providing some reference for the overseas publicity of Chinese culture while offering a trial concerning how to apply the multimodal translation theory.
