在历时维度上,“还好”经历了从短语到词的词汇化过程,在演变的过程中,副词“还”和形容词“好”的结合愈加紧密,语义发生了历时演变,“庆幸”义和“勉强”义的外显与内隐体现其语义演化的连续性。会话中频繁使用的评估类应答语“还好”是评注性副词“还好”进一步虚化的结果,其会话功能包括结束会话、开启新一轮会话及修正会话三种。语境渗透、主观化、礼貌原则驱动了评估类应答语“还好”的形成。

In the process of evolution, the structure of the adverb “also” and the adjective “fine” has become more and more close, and the semantics have undergone a diachronic evolution, and the explicit and implicit of “glad meaning” and “grudging meaning” reflect the continuity of their semantic evolution. The frequently used evaluation response “fine” in the conversation is the result of further blurring of the commentative adverb “fine”, and its conversation functions include ending the session, opening a new round of conversation, and correcting the conversation. The principles of context penetration, subjectivization, and politeness drive the formation of “fine” in evaluative responses.
