摘要
信息时代,视频传播迅速、影响广泛,国内外视频字幕翻译越显重要。《中国奇谭之小妖怪的夏天》开播便带有中英双语字幕,是支持“走出去”战略的体现,具有研究意义。采用受到大众青睐的两种机器翻译平台将短片中的中文字幕英译,并将其与官方译文进行比较分析,发现尽管机器翻译发展迅速、效率提升,但官方译文中体现的文化元素是机器翻译无法做到的。最终肯定该动画短片中官方译文的优势,且在字幕英译中,人工翻译必不可缺。
In the age of information, the rapid dissemination and wide influence of videos make the translation of subtitles for domestic and foreign videos more and more important. The Chinese and English subtitles of “Nobody”, which was broadcasted at the beginning of the movie, are a manifestation of supporting the strategy of “going out”, which is of great significance for the study. Two popular ma-chine translation platforms are used to translate the Chinese subtitles of the short film into English, and a comparative analysis with the official translation reveals that, despite the rapid development and efficiency of machine translation, the official translation embodies cultural elements that can-not be achieved by machine translation. Finally, the advantages of the official translation in the an-imated short film are affirmed, and human translation is indispensable in subtitle English transla-tion.
