The discussion of One-Dimensional Man by Marcuse is not reduced in the domestic academic circle, and more scholars have translated it. Different translations have different translators’ understandings, and the retranslation of the same translator reflects the update of the translator’s cognition. Comparing the differences between different translations of the same period and different translations of the same translator is conducive to helping readers to make reading choices;grasping the social reasons for the change and update of Chinese translations accompanied by the development of Western Marxism in China is conducive to summarizing the transmission path and experience enlightenment of Western Marxist works in domestic translation.
