“信达雅”翻译原则下机器翻译与人工翻译的对比研究

A Comparative Study of Machine Translation and Human Translation under the Principle of “Faithfulness, Expressiveness and Elegance”

随着信息技术的高速发展,在翻译行业中,机器翻译的应用日益增多,机器翻译的特点主要体现在高效性、自动性和客观性,而人工翻译虽然耗时,但其准确性和灵活性不容忽视。文章通过实例分析文学类文本翻译以及非文学类文本的翻译,以信、达、雅的翻译标准研究对比机器翻译与人工翻译的译文质量,文章发现:无论是对于文学类文本,还是非文学类文本,机器翻译都还很难满足翻译标准中“雅”的要求,需要人工翻译的润色,因此,在翻译实践中,机器翻译应结合人工翻译才可达到“信达雅”的翻译标准。

With the rapid development of information technology, the application of machine translation is increasing day by day in the translation industry. The characteristics of machine translation are mainly reflected in efficiency, automaticity and objectivity. Although manual translation is time- consuming, its accuracy and flexibility cannot be ignored. This paper analyzes literary text translation and non-literary text translation with examples, and compares the translation quality of machine translation and human translation with the translation standards of trustworthiness, expressiveness and elegance. Whether it is for literary texts or non-literary texts, machine translation is still difficult to meet the requirements of “elegance” in translation standards, therefore, in translation practice, machine translation should be combined with human translation to achieve the translation standard of “faithfulness, expressiveness and elegance”.
