Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam are important neighbors of China, bordering Yunnan Province, and with the “Belt and Road” initiative, the neighboring countries are developing more and more rapidly. Based on the nighttime lighting data and MODIS data from 2010 to 2020 as the main data sources, this paper constructs the evaluation index of economic development level, the evaluation index of ecological environment quality and the coupling coordination degree of “economy-ecology”, discusses the level of “economy-ecology” coupling coordination in the border area of the four countries, and predicts the development status in 2025. The results show that: 1) The economic development level of the study area has been improved overall, especially at the junction between China and other countries, where are obvious economic development cores. 2) The habitat quality in the study area was generally high, and the staggered distribution of high and low habitat quality was obvious. 3) During the study period, the economic development level and ecological environment quality of most regions in the study area were not consistent, but generally changed to a higher level. The predicted average coupling coordination degree of the two systems in the study area in 2025 shows an upward trend except in Vietnam.
