Lupus nephritis is an autoimmune-mediated complex and refractory disease involving multiple systems. In severe cases, immunosuppressive agents such as glucocorticoids are often used, but toxic side effects are inevitable during the treatment. We use traditional Chinese medicine to start with the deficiency of both spleen and kidney, which often shows good therapeutic effects.
