As the most common complication of herpes zoster, postherpetic neuralgia is a persistent condition that seriously affects the quality of life of patients. Traditional Chinese medicine has its special advantages in treating this disease. This article analyzes the etiology and pathogenesis of postherpetic neuralgia, acupuncture treatment, and reviews the research progress of traditional Chinese medicine oral and external treatment.
