Native Son is one of the masterpieces of African-American literary works,which shows us the in-ner relation between crime and social institution.It is inferred that savagery and cruelty of black crime result actually from American civilization rather than nature or ethic characteristics of black people.This paper,based on the theory of Homi K.Bhabha’s postcolonialism,will analyze the marginal survival of black men;the liminal negotiation between the white and the black;Big-ger’s spiritual awakening after psychological exile as well as the supreme act of Thomas.
