As the masterpiece of Sandra Cisneros, The House on Mango Street shows diverse aspects of Chi-cana females’ life on Mango Street from the angle of a child. Based on the female vision, the thesis mainly uses the spatial theory of Henri Lefebvre to demonstrate the spatial dilemmas of Chicana females from the dimensions of physical, mental and social space. The thesis also propounds reasonable paradigms with the textual context and social reality combined, aiming at deconstructing the spaces where power relations are largely unbalanced. Therefore, Chicana females can find ways to cast off the spatial dilemmas both as an individual and a community, achieving the reconstruction of identity.
