摘要
目前,“外研社杯”英语演讲及辩论比赛已成为全国参赛人数最多、规模最大、水平最高的英语口语类赛事。本文以南方科技大学理工专业本科生参加“外研社杯”英语辩论及演讲比赛备赛为例,从智力、行为及情感三个方面入手,对学生的投入情况进行质性研究并获得了一些教学方面的启示,希望这些启示能够给予同行参考。
Over the years, the “FLTRP Cup” English public speaking and debating contests have been regarded as the most prestigious oral English competitions with the highest standards in China, attracting the largest number of participants from across the whole country. This paper describes a qualitative study of SUSTech STEM undergraduates’ engagement in preparing these two contests from the intellectual, behavioral and emotional aspects. It aims at providing some pedagogical en-lightenments for college English teachers at universities.
