广州市中小学英语教材文化呈现对比分析

A Comparative Analysis of Cultural Presentation in English Textbooks for Primary and Secondary Schools in Guangzhou

摘要 本文依据张虹、李晓楠(2022)提出的外语教材文化呈现分析框架,对广州市小学四至六年级教科版英语教材及初中沪教版英语教材进行量化统计与分析。研究发现:在地域文化呈现上,小学地域文化呈现以中华文化为主,初中地域文化呈现比例相对平衡。在文化呈现形式上,中小学教材都主要采用文化产品、文化人物与文化实践的呈现形式。在呈现方式上,小学主要使用图片呈现文化,而初中呈现方式较为多样。 Based on the framework for analyzing the cultural presentation of foreign language textbooks pro-posed by Zhang & Li (2022), this paper conducts a quantitative analysis of the English textbooks for grades 4 to 6 of elementary and junior high schools in Guangzhou. The study found that in terms of regional culture presentation, elementary schools mainly present Chinese culture, and the propor-tion of regional culture presentation in junior high schools is relatively balanced. In terms of the presentation form, textbooks for elementary and junior high schools mainly adopt the forms of cultural products, cultural figures, and cultural practices. In terms of presentation methods, elemen-tary schools mainly use pictures to present culture, while junior high schools present culture in varying ways.
