新工科背景下土木专业英语“分层次、多元化”教学方法研究

摘要 复合型“新工科”特性的人才在指定领域学术精湛且符合“学科交叉融合”理念,是培养创新型卓越工程师人才的基础。基于该理念,提出了在新工科背景下,土木工程专业英语“分层次、多元化”教学方法及试行机制。分层次是指“分层次”主要依据学生英语基础、职业规划,进行因材施教。即初级层、中级层、高级层。“多元化”是教学方法多样化、教学内容新颖化、考核方式灵活化。通过在土木19、20和21级共计约540名同学的试行结果表明:学生在专业词汇、长句难句的辨析能力;篇章的理解能力;英文科技论文的撰写能力均有相应的提高。表明该协同创新型教学方法是可行的,是提高学生土木工程专业英语的一种有效方法,对培养面向国际视野综合型人才具有一定的借鉴作用。 Talents with the characteristics of composite “new engineering” excel academically in designated fields and conform to the concept of “interdisciplinary integration”, which is the foundation for cul-tivating innovative and outstanding engineering talents. Based on this concept, a hierarchical and diversified teaching method and a trial mechanism for civil engineering professional English have been proposed in the context of the new engineering discipline. Hierarchical teaching refers to teaching students according to their aptitude, mainly based on their English foundation and career planning, namely beginner level, intermediate level, and advanced level. Diversification refers to the diversification of teaching methods, the novelty of teaching content, and the flexibility of assessment methods. The trial results of about 540 students in civil engineering grades 19, 20, and 21 show that students have the ability to distinguish professional vocabulary and difficult long sen-tences;ability to understand discourse;the writing ability of English scientific papers has correspondingly improved. This indicates that the collaborative innovative teaching method is feasible and an effective way to improve the English proficiency of civil engineering students. It has a certain reference value for cultivating talents with an international perspective.
