The Internal Logic and Optimization of Urban Solid Waste Classification and Sustainable Development

中央财经领导小组在第十四次会议上提出要普遍推行垃圾分类制度。会议指出这项工作关系十三亿多人生活环境改善,关系垃圾能不能减量化、资源化、无害化处理,关系垃圾处理中的“邻避”困局能不能从根本上破解。近年来,垃圾分类工作在习近平总书记的重要指示与讲话精神指引下,取得了较为突出的成果。我们也应认识到垃圾分类与可持续发展的理念拥有内在逻辑的一致性,同时生活垃圾分类仍存在一些亟需改善的问题,应从统一分类标准、健全法律法规、鼓励公众参与等方面进行解决。

At the 14th meeting of the Central Financial and Economic Leading Group, it was proposed to universally implement the garbage classification system. Pointed out that this work is related to the improvement of the living environment of more than 1.3 billion people, whether the waste can be reduced, resources, and harmless treatment, and whether the “nimby” dilemma in the disposal of waste can be fundamentally cracked. We should also realize that the concept of garbage classification and sustainable development has an inherent logical consistency, while there are still some problems in need of improvement, which should be solved by unifying classification standards, improving laws and regulations, and encouraging public participation.
