By using SWOT analysis method,questionnaire survey method and expert interview method,the paper,through the analysis of the advantages,disadvantages,opportunities and threats of the professional development of police sports teachers in political and legal colleges and universities,makes professional development strategy for teachers,such as"inheritance innovation","school Bureau linkage","role merger","promoting teaching by research"and so on. It provides a reference for improving the teaching ability of police teachers,teaching scientific research ability and actual combat application ability in an all-round way.
