光的交流和平等互惠——莱布尼茨中西方文化交流观的历史性回顾

A Commerce of Light and Reciprocity:A Historic Review of Leibniz's Ideas on Sino-Occidental Cultural Exchanges

该文以莱布尼茨所著的《中国近事》一书和他与多位传教士的通信等相关资料为基础,并结合德国汉学家福兰阁和卫礼贤对莱布尼茨思想的关注和发扬,对莱布尼茨的中西方文化交流观展开历史性的回顾,主要着眼于其中"光的交流"和"平等互惠"两大重点。在莱布尼茨看来,中西方应携手进行光的交流,这不仅对双方有利,也会惠及两国之间的其他民族;而中西方文化虽存在差异却又是互补的,中西方应该互相学习,发展交流认识的新型关系。

Based on materials including Leibniz's book Novissima Sinica and his correspondences with several missionar-ies,this paper conducts a historic review of Leibniz's ideas on Sino-occidental cultural exchanges by focusing on his ideasof"a commerce of light"and"reciprocity",combined with an analysis of German sinologists Otto Franke and Richard Wil-helm's attention and development of Leibniz's ideas on Sino-occidental cultural exchanges. From the viewpoint of Leib-niz,China and the West should hand in hand and engage in a commerce of light,which is not only beneficial for the twosides,but the nations between. Besides,the two cultures are different while complementary and they should learn fromeach other and cultivate a new type of relation of exchanges.
