本文从敦煌壁画矿物色的研究困境出发,通过探寻历代敦煌壁画矿物色的应用及特征,理清中国'丹青'的发展脉络,提出传承与发扬敦煌壁画矿物色及敦煌土来为现代工笔重彩画服务的观点,以达到现代工笔重彩画既能在表现手法上以传统为基点,又能在颜料上拓展新的发展空间的目的,更是一种继往开来的有意义尝试和探索.
