In this paper,the autho...<Abstract> This paper is the manuscript of a keynote lecture Presented at the 7th International Symposium on Biomedical & Rehabilitation Engineering held in Harbin,China in July 1997. In this paper,the authors gave a brief historic review of rehabilitation engineering research in China first, and then discussed the present status. Through these discussions both the road blocks and new challenges can beseen clearly.Finally,some suggestions to promote rehabilitation engineering research in China and personal views on basic research for the development of rehabilitation engineering were presented.展开更多
