The study finds that there are significant stylistic differences between the two translations. Li Jihong’s translation adopts a more domesticating translation strategy, while Cheng Xuexin & Lian Yu’s translation adopts a more foreignizing strategy. The differences between the two translations are closely related to the translators’ translation concepts, translation purposes, and the social and cultural backgrounds they are in.展开更多

The author first defined the concept and characteristics of online teaching and described its specific implementation strategies in English debate courses, including the effective use of resources, promotion of online interaction, and optimization of assessment and feedback. Secondly, the author discussed the blended teaching model, which combines the strengths of traditional face-to-face teaching with modern online teaching, and offered an in-depth analysis of its implementation in English debate courses. Next, the author explored the Hyflex teaching model, which emphasizes the seamless integration of online and offline teaching activities to enhance the teaching strategies for English debate. Finally, some implementation strategies and specific recommendations were provided based on the comprehensive comparison of these three teaching models. The findings indicate that research focuses on key areas such as picture book teaching, early English enlightenment, and holistic language development. Special attention is given to the importance of bilingual education in the early childhood stage and its impact on children’s lifelong learning abilities. Through methods such as keyword co-occurrence network analysis, citation burst detection, and time series analysis, this paper collected and analyzed a large amount of relevant data, revealing the research hotspots and development trends in the field of early childhood English education. The analysis results show that early childhood English teaching strategies are moving towards diversification and specialization, and the cultivation of core literacy occupies an increasingly important position in teaching. This study emphasizes the importance of bilingual education in the context of globalization for cultivating the next generation with an international perspective and cross-cultural communication skills. In the future, research will continue to deepen the understanding of the interaction between early childhood English teaching strategies and the development of core literacy, in order to provide more comprehensive theoretical and practical guidance for educators.展开更多

The English version of the 2023 Government Work Report, as an important platform to showcase China’s policies and situations, serves as an invaluable source of reference for translators. This paper takes Newmark’s componential analysis as the theoretical ba-sis to explore the translation methods of the Chinese ecological, material, and social culture- specific items in the English version of the 2023 Government Work Report. After case studies based on the three-step principle of the componential analysis theory, namely, deconstruction, interpretation and reconstruction, this paper unfolds that such translation methods as free translation plus literal translation, free translation, and free translation along with augmentation are applied to the Eng-lish version of the 2023 Government Work Report, through which the sense components of Chinese culture-specific items are well demonstrated. Therefore, the English version is close to the source text and understandable to the target audience, thus promoting the dissemination of Chinese cul-ture to the world.展开更多

This integration can improve teaching effectiveness better and extend the boundaries of classroom fully. Due to the characteristics of the young student group, the extension of the class not only means the extension of teaching, but also implies a closer home-school co-education. It creates a more comprehensive, long-term, and tracking-based learning experience for students, which is conducive to the multiple intelligence and long-term accumulation in language learning. Based on this background, this paper proposes an OMO (Online Merge Offline) training program for English teachers who teach young student group, hoping to enhance the teaching effectiveness of these teachers.展开更多

However, translatability and untranslatability are dialectical. Based on the purpose of pragmatic communication, this paper proposes the primary principle for the English-Chinese translation of Tom Swifties—the preservation of rhetorical effect. The foremost goal of rhetorical translation is to allow readers to appreciate the unique linguistic forms and rhetorical effects. Achieving such rhetorical effects, when necessary, may come at the cost of sacrificing meaning or fidelity to the original text. On this basis, three basic strategies are proposed: 1) literal translation;2) adjustment of wording within the same semantic range;3) rewriting or supplementation to achieve the desired rhetorical effect, such as special rhetorical structures, poetic forms, etc. As long as translators fully utilize their agency, adhere to certain translation principles, and employ appropriate strategies, they can creatively translate seemingly untranslatable rhetoric, thereby enhancing cultural exchange.展开更多

Achieving such rhetorical effects, when necessary, may come at the cost of sacrificing meaning or fidelity to the original text. On this basis, three basic strategies are proposed: 1) literal translation;2) adjustment of wording within the same semantic range;3) rewriting or supplementation to achieve the desired rhetorical effect, such as special rhetorical structures, poetic forms, etc. As long as translators fully utilize their agency, adhere to certain translation principles, and employ appropriate strategies, they can creatively translate seemingly untranslatable rhetoric, thereby enhancing cultural exchange.
