However, language and culture will change with the development of the times, which also increases the difficulty for artificial intelligence translation technology. After comparing ChatGPT’s translation of cultural-loaded words in The Travels of Xu Xiake with the cultural-loaded words in Lu Changhuai and Jia Xiuhai’s translations, it is found that there are problems such as inexplicable words, hard translations, and mistranslations in translating the cultural-loaded words in the travelogue by ChatGPT.
