In this paper, the seismic responses of the slit shear walls under the shake of earthquake excitation have been dealt with. Based on a simplified structural model, which is shown to have a sufficient accuracy for the real slit shear wall structure, the analysis focuses on the influence of nonlinear behavior of the connecting beams between the slits on the dynamic performance of the whole slit shear wall structure. It has been found that the yielding of connecting beams in a slit shear wall can provide significant improvement in reducing the structural responses, and by choosing an appropriate strength value for the connecting beams, it is possible to optimize the seismic response of the slit shear wall.展开更多

By introducing the unit pulse functions and Dirac functions, the clamped edge can be made equivalent to the simply supported one by adding the unknown horizontal reactions. According to the governing equations of the plane stress problem, the general expressions of displacements, which satisfy the governing differefitial equations and the boundary conditions attwo ends of the beam, can be deduced. The unknown coefficients in the general expressions are then determined by using Fourier sinusoidal series expansion along the upper and lower boundaries of the beams and using the condition of zero displacements at the clamped edge. The solution obtained has excellent convergence properties. Comparing the numerical results to those obtained from the commercial software ANSYS, excellent accuracy of the present method is demonstrated.展开更多

However, the study on dynamic response of plates to moving vehicles has so far received but scant attention. A plate-vehicle strip for simulating the interaction between a rectangular plate and moving vehicles was described. For the portion of strips that are in direct contact with the moving vehicles, the plate-vehicle strips were employed. Conventional plate finite strips were used to model the portion of strips that are not directly under the action of moving vehicles. In the analysis, each moving vehicle is idealized as a one-foot dynamic system with tire unsprung mass and sprund mass interconnected by a spring and a dashpot. The numerical results obtained from the proposed method agree well with available results.展开更多

However, such kind of conditions cannot be used for curvilinear coordinates. In this paper, certain forms of the patch test are established in terms of the general and the orthogonal curvilinear systems respectively. For the axisymmetric problem, the related patch test condition is formulated and used to construct an axisymmetric incompatible element. In addition, some new approaches to avoid spurious shear stress are presented.展开更多
