The pain or dysfunction caused by idiopathic scoliosis falls into the category of “meridian tenopathy”. Based on the meridian tendon theory, this paper discusses the relationship between the pathogenesis of idiopathic scoliosis and meridian tendon lesions, combined with the understanding of spine biomechanics and lumbar and abdominal core muscles in modern medicine, and summarizes the pathogenesis of idiopathic scoliosis as meridian tendon obstruction and imbalance of muscles and bones. The treatment should be through the meridians and relax the tendons, adjust the muscles and set the bones to analyze the unique advantages of traditional Chinese medicine external treatment in the treatment of idiopathic scoliosis under the guidance of the “Theory of Meridians and Tendons” and to provide new ideas for the pathogenesis and treatment of idiopathic scoliosis.
