Artificial Intelligence(AI)is being increasingly used for diagnosing Vision-Threatening Diabetic Retinopathy(VTDR),which is a leading cause of visual impairment and blindness worldwide. However, previous automated VTDR detection methods have mainly relied on manual feature extraction and classification, leading to errors. This paper proposes a novel VTDR detection and classification model that combines different models through majority voting. Our proposed methodology involves preprocessing, data augmentation, feature extraction, and classification stages. We use a hybrid convolutional neural network-singular value decomposition(CNN-SVD)model for feature extraction and selection and an improved SVM-RBF with a Decision Tree(DT)and K-Nearest Neighbor(KNN)for classification. We tested our model on the IDRiD dataset and achieved an accuracy of 98.06%,a sensitivity of 83.67%,and a specificity of 100%for DR detection and evaluation tests, respectively. Our proposed approach outperforms baseline techniques and provides a more robust and accurate method for VTDR detection. 展开更多

Glaucoma is a progressive eye disease that can lead to blindness if left untreated.Early detection is crucial to prevent vision loss, but current manual scanning methods are expensive,time-consuming,and require specialized expertise. This study presents a novel approach to Glaucoma detection using the Enhanced Grey Wolf Optimized Support Vector Machine(EGWO-SVM)method.The proposed method involves preprocessing steps such as removing image noise using the adaptive median filter(AMF)and feature extraction using the previously processed speeded-up robust feature(SURF),histogram of oriented gradients(HOG),and Global features. The enhanced Grey Wolf Optimization(GWO)technique is then employed with SVM for classification. To evaluate the proposed method,we used the online retinal images for glaucoma analysis(ORIGA)database, and it achieved high accuracy, sensitivity, and specificity rates of 94%,92%,and 92%,respectively.The results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms other current algorithms in detecting the presence or absence of Glaucoma. This study provides a novel and effective approach to Glaucoma detection that can potentially improve the detection process and outcomes. 展开更多

In the emerging field of image segmentation,Fully Convolutional Networks(FCNs)have recently become prominent. However, their effectiveness is intimately linked with the correct selection and fine-tuning of hyperparameters, which can often be a cumbersome manual task. The main aim of this study is to propose a more efficient, less labour-intensive approach to hyperparameter optimization in FCNs for segmenting fundus images. To this end,our research introduces a hyperparameter-optimized Fully Convolutional Encoder-Decoder Network(FCEDN).The optimization is handled by a novel Genetic Grey Wolf Optimization(G-GWO)algorithm.This algorithm employs the Genetic Algorithm(GA)to generate a diverse set of initial positions. It leverages Grey Wolf Optimization(GWO)to fine-tune these positions within the discrete search space.Testing on the Indian Diabetic Retinopathy Image Dataset(IDRiD),Diabetic Retinopathy,Hypertension,Age-related macular degeneration and Glacuoma ImageS(DR-HAGIS),and Ocular Disease Intelligent Recognition(ODIR)datasets showed that the G-GWO method outperformed four other variants of GWO,GA,and PSO-based hyperparameter optimization techniques. The proposed model achieved impressive segmentation results, with accuracy rates of 98.5%for IDRiD,98.7%for DR-HAGIS,and 98.4%,98.8%,and 98.5%for different sub-datasets within ODIR.These results suggest that the proposed hyperparameter-optimized FCEDN model, driven by the G-GWO algorithm,is more efficient than recent deep-learning models for image segmentation tasks. It thereby presents the potential for increased automation and accuracy in the segmentation of fundus images, mitigating the need for extensive manual hyperparameter adjustments. 展开更多

Farming is cultivating the soil, producing crops, and keeping livestock. The agricultural sector plays a crucial role in a country’s economic growth. This research proposes a two-stage machine learning framework for agriculture to improve efficiency and increase crop yield. In the first stage, machine learning algorithms generate data for extensive and far-flung agricultural areas and forecast crops. The recommended crops are based on various factors such as weather conditions, soil analysis, and the amount of fertilizers and pesticides required. In the second stage,a transfer learningbased model for plant seedlings, pests, and plant leaf disease datasets is used to detect weeds, pesticides, and diseases in the crop. The proposed model achieved an average accuracy of 95%,97%,and 98% in plant seedlings, pests, and plant leaf disease detection, respectively. The system can help farmers pinpoint the precise measures required at the right time to increase yields. 展开更多

In this paper,a neuro-optimized numerical method is presented for approximation of HIV virus progression model in the human body. The model is composed of coupled nonlinear system of differential equations(DEs)containing healthy and infected T-Cells and HIV free virus particles. The coupled system is transformed into feedforward artificial neural network(ANN)with Mexican hat wavelet function in the hidden layers. Two meta-heuristic algorithms based on chaotic particle swarm optimization(CPSO)and its hybrid version with local search technique are exploited to tune the parameters of ANN in an unsupervised manner of error function.A comprehensive testbed is established to observe the virus growth per day with performance metric containing fitness value, computational time complexity and convergence. The proposed solutions are compared with state of art Runge-Kutta method and Legendre Wavelet Collocation Method(LWCM).The core advantages of the proposed scheme are getting the solution on continuous grid, consistent convergence, simplicity in implementation and handling strong nonlinearity effectively. 展开更多
