Background Sleep disturbance is a common comorbidity of major depressive disorder(MDD).However,network homogeneity(NH)changes of the default mode network(DMN)in MDD with sleep disturbances are unclear.Aims The purpose...Background Sleep disturbance is a common comorbidity of major depressive disorder(MDD).However,network homogeneity(NH)changes of the default mode network(DMN)in MDD with sleep disturbances are unclear.Aims The purpose of this study was to probe the abnormal NH in the DMN in MDD with sleep disturbances and to reveal the differences between MDD with or without sleep disturbances.Methods Twenty-four patients with MDD and sleep disturbances(Pa_s),33 patients with MDD without sleep disturbances(Pa_ns)and 32 healthy controls(HCs)were recruited in this study.Resting-state functional imaging data were analysed using NH.Results Compared with Pa_ns and HCs,Pa_s showed decreased NH in the left superior medial prefrontal cortex and increased NH in the right precuneus.There was a negative correlation between NH in the left superior medial prefrontal cortex and sleep disturbances(r=−0.42,p=0.001)as well as a positive correlation between NH in the right precuneus and sleep disturbances(r=0.41,p=0.002)in patients with MDD.Conclusions MDD with sleep disturbances is associated with abnormal NH in the DMN,which could differentiate pa_s from pa_ns.The DMN may play a crucial role in the neurobiological mechanisms of MDD with sleep disturbances.展开更多
Much has been learned about the etiology and pathogenesis of schizophrenia since the term was first used by Eugene Bleuler over a century ago to describe one of the most important forms of major mental illness to affe...Much has been learned about the etiology and pathogenesis of schizophrenia since the term was first used by Eugene Bleuler over a century ago to describe one of the most important forms of major mental illness to affect mankind.Both nature and nurture feature prominently in our understanding of the genesis of the overall risk of developing schizophrenia.We now have a firm grasp of the broad structure of the genetic architecture and several key environmental risk factors have been identified and delineated.However,much of the heritability of schizophrenia remains unexplained and the reported environmental risk factors do not explain all the variances not attributable to genetic risk factors.The biggest problem at present is that our understanding of the causal mechanisms involved is still in its infancy.In this review,we describe the extent and limits of our knowledge of the specific genetic/constitutional and non-genetic/environmental factors that contribute to the overall risk of schizophrenia.We suggest novel methods may be required to understand the almost certainly immensely complex multi-level causal mechanisms that contribute to the generation of the schizophrenia phenotype.展开更多
The safety and immunogenicity of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)vaccines in people living with HIV(PLWH)in real-world studies remain controversial.Thus,we conducted a comprehensive systemat...The safety and immunogenicity of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)vaccines in people living with HIV(PLWH)in real-world studies remain controversial.Thus,we conducted a comprehensive systematic review and meta-analysis to address this issue.Data search were conducted from PubMed,Web of Science and EMBASE.Adverse events following vaccination,the risk ratio(RR)of SARS-CoV-2–specific IgG seroconversion and the level of anti–SARS-CoV-2 neutralizing antibodies were compared between the PLWH group and a healthy control group.A total of 10,582 PLWH from 22 studies were included.In our analysis,the incidence of local or systemic adverse events after the first SARS-CoV-2 vaccine dose was not statistically different between PLWH and healthy controls.However,there was a statistical difference after the second dose(RR,0.83;95%CI,0.71–0.98).The seroconversion rate of SARS-CoV-2 IgGantibodies in PLWH was significantly lower than that in the healthy control group(RR,0.94;95%CI,0.89–0.98;I2=80%,P<0.01).The anti–SARS-CoV-2 neutralizing antibody titers in PLWH after full immunization were also significantly lower than those in the healthy control group(RR,0.91;95%CI,0.85–0.98;I2=81%,P<0.01).The safety and tolerance of COVID-19 vaccines in PLWHare acceptable.However,their immunogenicitymay be impaired to a certain extent,characterized by a lower IgGseroconversion rate and neutralizing antibody titers compared with healthy individuals.These findings should provide guidance for optimizing future COVID-19 vaccination strategies among PLWH.展开更多
