BACKGROUND Streptococcus gallolyticus subspecies pasteurianus(SGSP)is a rare pathogen responsible for infant sepsis and meningitis and is potentially overlooked because it is not included in routine group B streptococ...BACKGROUND Streptococcus gallolyticus subspecies pasteurianus(SGSP)is a rare pathogen responsible for infant sepsis and meningitis and is potentially overlooked because it is not included in routine group B streptococcal screenings.Hence,we present a case of SGSP-induced infant meningitis and sepsis,accompanied by bronchopneumonia induced by multidrug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA),providing insights into the identification,management,and prognosis of this bacterial infection.CASE SUMMARY A 45-day-old female infant presented with two episodes of high fever(maximum temperature:39.5°C)and two generalized grand mal seizure episodes that lasted over ten seconds and self-resolved without concomitant symptoms.Postadmission,the patient’s C-reactive protein level was 40.73 mg/L,white blood cell count was 13.42×10^(9)/L,neutrophil ratio was 78.4%,procalcitonin level was 7.89μg/L,cerebrospinal fluid(CSF)white cell count was 36×10^(6)/L,multinucleated cell ratio was 95.2%,and protein concentration was 0.41 g/L.Blood and CSF culture revealed that the pathogen was SGSP.The bacterium was sensitive to ampicillin,furazolidone,penicillin,lincomycin,moxifloxacin,rifampicin,vancomycin,and levofloxacin but resistant to clindamycin and tetracycline.Sputum culture revealed the presence of MRSA,which was sensitive to vancomycin.The patient was diagnosed with meningitis and sepsis caused by SGSP,accompanied by bronchopneumonia induced by MRSA.Ceftriaxone(100 mg/kg/d)combined with vancomycin(10 mg/kg/dose,q6h)was given as an anti-infective treatment postadmission.After 12 days of treatment,the infant was discharged from the hospital with normal CSF,blood culture,and routine blood test results,and no complications,such as subdural effusion,were observed on cranial computed tomography.No growth retardation or neurological sequelae occurred during follow-up.CONCLUSION SGPSP-induced infant bacterial meningitis and sepsis should be treated with prompt blood and CSF cultures,and a sensitive antibiotic therapy to ensure a favorable prognosis.展开更多
Previous studies have shown that fibroblast growth factor 13 is downregulated in the brain of both Alzheimer’s disease mouse models and patients,and that it plays a vital role in the learning and memory.However,the u...Previous studies have shown that fibroblast growth factor 13 is downregulated in the brain of both Alzheimer’s disease mouse models and patients,and that it plays a vital role in the learning and memory.However,the underlying mechanisms of fibroblast growth factor 13 in Alzheimer’s disease remain unclear.In this study,we established rat models of Alzheimer’s disease by stereotaxic injection of amyloid-β(Aβ_(1-42))-induced into bilateral hippocampus.We also injected lentivirus containing fibroblast growth factor 13 into bilateral hippocampus to overexpress fibroblast growth factor 13.The expression of fibroblast growth factor 13 was downregulated in the brain of the Alzheimer’s disease model rats.After overexpression of fibroblast growth factor 13,learning and memory abilities of the Alzheimer’s disease model rats were remarkably improved.Fibroblast growth factor 13 overexpression increased brain expression levels of oxidative stress-related markers glutathione,superoxide dismutase,phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase,AKT and glycogen synthase kinase 3β,and anti-apoptotic factor BCL.Furthermore,fibroblast growth factor 13 overexpression decreased the number of apoptotic cells,expression of pro-apoptotic factor BAX,cleaved-caspase 3 and amyloid-βexpression,and levels of tau phosphorylation,malondialdehyde,reactive oxygen species and acetylcholinesterase in the brain of Alzheimer’s disease model rats.The changes were reversed by the phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase inhibitor LY294002.These findings suggest that overexpression of fibroblast growth factor 13 improved neuronal damage in a rat model of Alzheimer’s disease through activation of the phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase/AKT/glycogen synthase kinase 3βsignaling pathway.展开更多

BACKGROUNDβ-ketothiolase deficiency(β-KTD)is an inherited disease,and insufficient attention has been paid to imageology due to its lower morbidity.Therefore,few lesions outside the basal ganglia have been found bef...BACKGROUNDβ-ketothiolase deficiency(β-KTD)is an inherited disease,and insufficient attention has been paid to imageology due to its lower morbidity.Therefore,few lesions outside the basal ganglia have been found before,and the persistent pathological changes have rarely been reported.CASE SUMMARY A 10-mo-old Chinese female patient with a free previous medical history but with poor physical and athletic development had received the haemophilus influenzae vaccine and then developed a low fever 2 d prior.She was initially diagnosed with severe brain injury,central respiratory failure,metabolic acidosis complicated with respiratory alkalosis,hyper-IgE,etc.With further examination,a definite diagnosis ofβ-KTD was made.Symptomatic treatment was adopted.Ten days later,the dyspnea was improved evidently and the ventilator was removed,but there were still obvious abnormalities on magnetic resonance imaging(MRI).The lesions mainly invaded the corpus striatum but were not limited to the basal ganglia.Then,the patient’s disease improved and discharged approximately 1 mo later,and the abnormal lesions on MRI had partially improved.However,for about 1 year,the residual irreversible lesions were observed on MRI,the mental and physical development of the patient was obviously regressive,and extra rehabilitation training was needed.CONCLUSION The case highlights the critical importance of one view that the range of lesions in some patients may be more extensive than previously thought in someβ-KTD patients.In addition to biochemical tests,genetic tests and magnetic resonance imaging are not only conducive to quickly diagnosingβ-KTD but also to partially evaluating the short-and long-term outcomes.Moreover,more attention should be paid to the two mutations(c.478 C>G;c.951 C>T)that may be associated with severeβ-KTD.展开更多

Methods:SD female rats were divided into corosoric acid group (CA group), gestational diabetes mellitus group (GDM group) and control group, CA group and GDM group were established into GDM models, and CA group were given corosoric acid intervention. Based on Cognitive Style Theory,Oxford’s Speaking Learning Theory and Communicative Competence Theory,this paper adopts questionnaire method,uses Sternberg’s Thinking Style Inventory modified by Zhang Lifang,as well...Based on Cognitive Style Theory,Oxford’s Speaking Learning Theory and Communicative Competence Theory,this paper adopts questionnaire method,uses Sternberg’s Thinking Style Inventory modified by Zhang Lifang,as well as Oxford’s Learning Strategies Scale,and combines with the actual situation of junior high school students’oral learning to design the questionnaire of speaking learning strategies.Eighth graders of a junior middle school in Sichuan Province are randomly selected as the research object.The statistical tool SPSS23.0 is used to conduct the descriptive analysis and Pearson correlation analysis of the questionnaire results to explore the overall situation of junior high school students’thinking styles and the use of English-speaking learning strategies as well as their correlation.According to the research,junior high school students generally tend to executive style,liberal style,conservative style,legislative style,hierarchic style.The use of speaking learning strategies is at an average level.They tend to use memory speaking strategies,social speaking strategies,affective speaking strategies,and cognitive speaking strategies.As a whole,there is a relatively significant correlation between thinking styles and speaking learning strategies.Specifically,there is a partial correlation between thinking styles and speaking learning strategies.展开更多
Electrochemical CO_(2) reduction driven by renewable electricity is one of the promising strategies to store sus-tainable energy as fuels.However,the selectivity of value-added multi-carbon products remains poor for f...Electrochemical CO_(2) reduction driven by renewable electricity is one of the promising strategies to store sus-tainable energy as fuels.However,the selectivity of value-added multi-carbon products remains poor for further application of this process.Here,we regulate CO adsorption by forming a Nafion layer on the copper(Cu)electrode that is repulsive to OH^(-),contributing to enhanced selectivity of CO_(2) reduction to C_(2) products with the suppression of C 1 products.The operando Raman spectroscopy indicates that the local OH^(-)would adsorb on part of active sites and decrease the adsorption of CO.Therefore,the electrode with repulsive to OH^(-)can adjust the concentration of OH^(-),leading to the increased adsorption of CO and enhanced C–C coupling.This work shows that electrode design could be an effective strategy for improving the selectivity of CO_(2) reduction to multi-carbon products.展开更多
Central sensitization is essential in maintaining chronic pain induced by chronic pancreatitis(CP),but cortical modulation of painful CP remains elusive.Here,we examined the role of the anterior cingulate cortex(ACC)i...Central sensitization is essential in maintaining chronic pain induced by chronic pancreatitis(CP),but cortical modulation of painful CP remains elusive.Here,we examined the role of the anterior cingulate cortex(ACC)in the pathogenesis of abdominal hyperalgesia in a rat model of CP induced by intraductal administration of trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid(TNBS).TNBS treatment resulted in long-term abdominal hyperalgesia and anxiety in rats.Morphological data indicated that painful CP induced a significant increase in FOS-expressing neurons in the nucleus tractus solitarii(NTS)and ACC,and some FOS-expressing neurons in the NTS projected to the ACC.In addition,a larger portion of ascending fibers from the NTS innervated pyramidal neurons,the neural subpopulation primarily expressing FOS under the condition of painful CP,rather than GABAergic neurons within the ACC.CP rats showed increased expression of vesicular glutamate transporter 1,and increased membrane trafficking and phosphorylation of the N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor(NMDAR)subunit NR2B and theα-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazole propionic acid receptor(AMPAR)subunit GluR1 within the ACC.Microinjection of NMDAR and AMPAR antagonists into the ACC to block excitatory synaptic transmission significantly attenuated abdominal hyperalgesia in CP rats,which was similar to the analgesic effect of endomorphins injected into the ACC.Specifically inhibiting the excitability of ACC pyramidal cells via chemogenetics reduced both hyperalgesia and comorbid anxiety,whereas activating these neurons via optogenetics failed to aggravate hyperalgesia and anxiety in CP rats.Taken together,these findings provide neurocircuit,biochemical,and behavioral evidence for involvement of the ACC in hyperalgesia and anxiety in CP rats,as well as novel insights into the cortical modulation of painful CP,and highlights the ACC as a potential target for neuromodulatory interventions in the treatment of painful CP.展开更多

With the rapid development of information technology and high broad reach of internet,mobile learning is becoming increasingly popular.In this paper,a mobile-learning method is proposed to explore college teachers’at...With the rapid development of information technology and high broad reach of internet,mobile learning is becoming increasingly popular.In this paper,a mobile-learning method is proposed to explore college teachers’attitude toward introducing mobile learning to classroom teaching.An experiment was implemented to investigate teachers’attitude and classroom teaching activities.The results show that they hold an affirmative attitude toward mobile learning,and different mobile learning platforms were applied into almost every step of their classroom teaching.Compared to traditional teaching method,mobile learning has prominent advantages,such as instant and interactive way of teaching,fast updating knowledge,simple and convenient assessment function,various teaching approaches and improvements on students’learner autonomy.When introducing mobile learning to classroom teaching,teachers’main concern falls on that students use mobile devices to do other things in the name of study and can’t balance their time spent on mobile learning.Finally,a suggestion is given that it is better for teachers to combine mobile learning with traditional teaching methods to achieve the best teaching effect.展开更多

文摘Electrochemical CO_(2) reduction driven by renewable electricity is one of the promising strategies to store sus-tainable energy as fuels.However,the selectivity of value-added multi-carbon products remains poor for further application of this process.Here,we regulate CO adsorption by forming a Nafion layer on the copper(Cu)electrode that is repulsive to OH^(-),contributing to enhanced selectivity of CO_(2) reduction to C_(2) products with the suppression of C 1 products.The operando Raman spectroscopy indicates that the local OH^(-)would adsorb on part of active sites and decrease the adsorption of CO.Therefore,the electrode with repulsive to OH^(-)can adjust the concentration of OH^(-),leading to the increased adsorption of CO and enhanced C–C coupling.This work shows that electrode design could be an effective strategy for improving the selectivity of CO_(2) reduction to multi-carbon products.

文摘Central sensitization is essential in maintaining chronic pain induced by chronic pancreatitis(CP),but cortical modulation of painful CP remains elusive.Here,we examined the role of the anterior cingulate cortex(ACC)in the pathogenesis of abdominal hyperalgesia in a rat model of CP induced by intraductal administration of trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid(TNBS).TNBS treatment resulted in long-term abdominal hyperalgesia and anxiety in rats.Morphological data indicated that painful CP induced a significant increase in FOS-expressing neurons in the nucleus tractus solitarii(NTS)and ACC,and some FOS-expressing neurons in the NTS projected to the ACC.In addition,a larger portion of ascending fibers from the NTS innervated pyramidal neurons,the neural subpopulation primarily expressing FOS under the condition of painful CP,rather than GABAergic neurons within the ACC.CP rats showed increased expression of vesicular glutamate transporter 1,and increased membrane trafficking and phosphorylation of the N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor(NMDAR)subunit NR2B and theα-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazole propionic acid receptor(AMPAR)subunit GluR1 within the ACC.Microinjection of NMDAR and AMPAR antagonists into the ACC to block excitatory synaptic transmission significantly attenuated abdominal hyperalgesia in CP rats,which was similar to the analgesic effect of endomorphins injected into the ACC.Specifically inhibiting the excitability of ACC pyramidal cells via chemogenetics reduced both hyperalgesia and comorbid anxiety,whereas activating these neurons via optogenetics failed to aggravate hyperalgesia and anxiety in CP rats.Taken together,these findings provide neurocircuit,biochemical,and behavioral evidence for involvement of the ACC in hyperalgesia and anxiety in CP rats,as well as novel insights into the cortical modulation of painful CP,and highlights the ACC as a potential target for neuromodulatory interventions in the treatment of painful CP.

文摘Under the background of development of Hainan Free Trade Zone(port)to meet its demand of English language talents with good intercultural communication competence,an empirical study is conducted to evaluate vocational college students’communicative competence of intercultural communication.The results indicate that among the five factors of communicative competence of intercultural communication,students’listening competence is the highest,followed successively by oral competence,strategic competence,sociolinguistic competence,discourse competence.The analytical results show that each factor among the five factors are positively correlated with the other four factors.Moreover,students’scores in college English Test(Grade A)have a positive correlation with their oral English competence,discourse competence and sociolinguistic competence,respectively.

文摘With the rapid development of information technology and high broad reach of internet,mobile learning is becoming increasingly popular.In this paper,a mobile-learning method is proposed to explore college teachers’attitude toward introducing mobile learning to classroom teaching.An experiment was implemented to investigate teachers’attitude and classroom teaching activities.The results show that they hold an affirmative attitude toward mobile learning,and different mobile learning platforms were applied into almost every step of their classroom teaching.Compared to traditional teaching method,mobile learning has prominent advantages,such as instant and interactive way of teaching,fast updating knowledge,simple and convenient assessment function,various teaching approaches and improvements on students’learner autonomy.When introducing mobile learning to classroom teaching,teachers’main concern falls on that students use mobile devices to do other things in the name of study and can’t balance their time spent on mobile learning.Finally,a suggestion is given that it is better for teachers to combine mobile learning with traditional teaching methods to achieve the best teaching effect.
文摘The development of tourism is closely related to Sanya’s economic growth.In this paper,the correlation between tourism development and economic growth in Sanya city is studied.Itwas first measured with grey correlation analysis.Then,tourism factors in Sanya was indicated,including tourism foreign exchange income,total value of accommodation and catering,the number of A-level and above scenic spots,tourism turnover,overnight domestic tourists,total passenger flow of airport and railway station and other factors.It is found that these factors have a significant impact on the output value of tourism in Sanya City.The analytical results show that tourism factors and economic growth in Sanya city is highly correlated.Improvement measures are put forward accordingly.
