Red walnut has broad market prospects because it is richer in anthocyanins than ordinary walnut.However,the mechanism driving anthocyanin biosynthesis in red walnut is still unknown.We studied two types of red walnut,...Red walnut has broad market prospects because it is richer in anthocyanins than ordinary walnut.However,the mechanism driving anthocyanin biosynthesis in red walnut is still unknown.We studied two types of red walnut,called red walnut 1(R1),with a red pericarp and seed coat,and red walnut 2(R2),with a red seed coat only.R1 mostly contained cyanidin-3-O-galactoside,while R2 contained a various amounts of cyanidin-3-Ogalactoside,cyanidin-3-O-arabinoside,and cyanidin-3-O-glucoside.The LDOX-2(LOC109007163)and LDOX-3(LOC109010746)genes,which encode leucoanthocyanidin dioxygenase/anthocyanidin synthase(LDOX/ANS),were preliminarily indicated as the crucial genes for anthocyanin biosynthesis in R1 and R2,respectively.The MYB differential genes analysis showed that MYB27 and MYB113 are specifically expressed in the red parts of R1 and R2,respectively,and they are regarded as candidate regulatory genes.Ectopic expression in Arabidopsis and transient injection in walnut showed that both MYB27 and MYB113 were located in the nucleus and promoted anthocyanin accumulation,while MYB27 promoted the expression of LDOX-2,and MYB113 promoted the expression of LDOX-3and UAGT-3.Yeast one-hybrid and electrophoretic mobility shift assays showed that MYB27 could only bind to the LDOX-2 promoter,while MYB113 could bind to the promoters of both LDOX-3 and UAGT-3.In addition,we also identified an HD-Zip transcription factor,ATHB-12,which is specifically expressed in the pericarp.After silencing the expression of ATHB-12,the R2 pericarp turned red,and MYB113 expression increased.Further experiments showed that ATHB-12 could specifically interact with MYB113 and bind to its promoter.This suggests that MYB27controls R1 coloration by regulating LDOX-2,while MYB113 controls R2 coloration by regulating LDOX-3 and UAGT-3,but ATHB-12 can specifically bind to and inhibit the MYB113 of the R2 pericarp so that it becomes unpigmented.This study reveals the anthocyanin biosynthetic mechanisms in two different types of red walnut and provides a scientific basis for the selection and breeding of red walnut varieties.展开更多

The industrial wastewater containing Cr(Ⅵ) has severely polluted soil and groundwater environmen...With the application of resins in various fields, numerous waste resins that are difficult to treat have been produced. The industrial wastewater containing Cr(Ⅵ) has severely polluted soil and groundwater environments, thereby endangering human health. Therefore, in this paper, a novel functionalized mesoporous adsorbent PPR-Z was synthesized from waste amidoxime resin for adsorbing Cr(Ⅵ). The waste amidoxime resin was first modified with H3PO4 and ZnCl_(2), and subsequently, it was carbonized through slow thermal decomposition. The static adsorption of PPR-Z conforms to the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Langmuir isotherm, indicating that the Cr(Ⅵ) adsorption by PPR-Z is mostly chemical adsorption and exhibits single-layer adsorption. The saturated adsorption capacity of the adsorbent for Cr(Ⅵ) could reach 255.86 mg/g. The adsorbent could effectively reduce Cr(Ⅵ) to Cr(Ⅲ) and decrease the toxicity of Cr(Ⅵ) during adsorption. PPR-Z exhibited Cr(Ⅵ) selectivity in electroplating wastewater. The main mechanisms involved in the Cr(Ⅵ) adsorption are the chemical reduction of Cr(Ⅵ) into Cr(Ⅲ) and electrostatic and coordination interactions. Preparation of PPR-Z not only solves the problem of waste resin treatment but also effectively controls Cr(Ⅵ) pollution and realizes the concept of “treating waste with waste”.展开更多
Objective Air pollution is a leading public health issue.This study investigated the effect of air quality and pollutants on pulmonary function and inflammation in patients with asthma in Shanghai.Methods The study mo...Objective Air pollution is a leading public health issue.This study investigated the effect of air quality and pollutants on pulmonary function and inflammation in patients with asthma in Shanghai.Methods The study monitored 27 asthma outpatients for a year,collecting data on weather,patient self-management[daily asthma diary,peak expiratory flow(PEF)monitoring,medication usage],spirometry and serum markers.To explore the potential mechanisms of any effects,asthmatic mice induced by ovalbumin(OVA)were exposed to PM_(2.5).Results Statistical and correlational analyses revealed that air pollutants have both acute and chronic effects on asthma.Acute exposure showed a correlation between PEF and levels of ozone(O_(3))and nitrogen dioxide(NO_(2)).Chronic exposure indicated that interleukin-5(IL-5)and interleukin-13(IL-13)levels correlated with PM_(2.5)and PM_(10)concentrations.In asthmatic mouse models,exposure to PM_(2.5)increased cytokine levels and worsened lung function.Additionally,PM_(2.5)exposure inhibited cell proliferation by blocking the NF-κB and ERK phosphorylation pathways.Conclusion Ambient air pollutants exacerbate asthma by worsening lung function and enhancing Th2-mediated inflammation.Specifically,PM_(2.5)significantly contributes to these adverse effects.Further research is needed to elucidate the mechanisms by which PM_(2.5)impacts asthma.展开更多
To effectively separate and recover Co(Ⅱ) from the leachate of spent lithium-ion battery cathodes,we investigated solvent extraction with quaternary ammonium salt N263 in the sodium nitrite system.NO_(2)^(-)combines ...To effectively separate and recover Co(Ⅱ) from the leachate of spent lithium-ion battery cathodes,we investigated solvent extraction with quaternary ammonium salt N263 in the sodium nitrite system.NO_(2)^(-)combines with Co(Ⅱ) to form an anion [Co(NO_(2))_(3)]^(-),and it is then extracted by N263.The extraction of Co(Ⅱ) is related to the concentration of NO_(2)^(-).The extraction efficiency of Co(Ⅱ) reaches the maximum of99.16%,while the extraction efficiencies of Ni(Ⅱ),Mn(Ⅱ),and Li(Ⅰ) are 9.27%-9.80% under the following conditions:30vol% of N263 and15vol% of iso-propyl alcohol in sulfonated kerosene,the volume ratio of the aqueous-to-organic phase is 2:1,the extraction time is 30 min,and1 M sodium nitrite in 0.1 MHNO_(3).The theoretical stages require for the Co(Ⅱ) extraction are performed in the McCabe–Thiele diagram,and the extraction efficiency of Co(Ⅱ) reaches more than 99.00% after three-stage counter-current extraction with Co(Ⅱ) concentration of 2544mg/L.When the HCl concentration is 1.5 M,the volume ratio of the aqueous-to-organic phase is 1:1,the back-extraction efficiency of Co(Ⅱ)achieves 91.41%.After five extraction and back-extraction cycles,the Co(Ⅱ) extraction efficiency can still reach 93.89%.The Co(Ⅱ) extraction efficiency in the actual leaching solution reaches 100%.展开更多

However, these factors have not yet been valida...The pathophysiology of LaPeyronie's disease (PD) is considered to be multifactorial, involving genetic predisposition, trauma, inflammation and altered wound healing. However, these factors have not yet been validated using animal models. In this study, we have presented a new model obtained by tunica albuginea allograft. A total of 40, 16-week-old male rats were used. Of these, 8 rats served as controls and underwent a 10 × 2-mm-wide tunical excisionwith subsequent autografting, whereas the remaining 32 underwent the same excision with grafting of the defect with another rat's tunica. Morphological and functional testing was performed at 1, 3, 7 and 12 weeks after grafting. Intracavernous pressure, the degree of penile curvature and elastic fiber length were evaluated for comparison between the allograft and control groups. The tissues were obtained for histological examination. The penile curvature was significantly greater in the allografted rats as compared with the control rats. The erectile function was maintained in all rats, except in those assessed at 12 weeks. The elastin fiber length was decreased in the allografted tunica as compared to control. SMAD2 expression was detected in the inner part of the allograff, and both collagen-Ⅱ- and osteocalcin-positive cells were also noted. Tunica albuginea (TA) allograft in rats is an excellent model of PD. The persistence of curvature beyond 12 weeks and the presence of ossification in the inner layer of the TA were similar to those observed in men with PD. Validation studies using this animal model would aid understanding of the PD pathophysiology for effective therapeutic interventions.展开更多

High harmonic generation(HHG)from solids shows great application prospects in compact short-wavelength light sources and as a tool for imaging the dynamics in crystals with subnanometer spatial and attosecond temporal...High harmonic generation(HHG)from solids shows great application prospects in compact short-wavelength light sources and as a tool for imaging the dynamics in crystals with subnanometer spatial and attosecond temporal resolution.However,the underlying collision dynamics behind solid HHG is still intensively debated and no direct mapping relationship between the collision dynamics with band structure has been built.Here,we show that the electron and its associated hole can be elastically scattered by neighboring atoms when their wavelength approaches the atomic size.We reveal that the elastic scattering of electron/hole from neighboring atoms can dramatically influence the electron recombination with its left-behind hole,which turns out to be the fundamental reason for the anisotropic interband HHG observed recently in bulk crystals.Our findings link the electron/hole backward scattering with Van Hove singularities and forward scattering with critical lines in the band structure and thus build a clear mapping between the band structure and the harmonic spectrum.Our work provides a unifying picture for several seemingly unrelated experimental observations and theoretical predictions,including the anisotropic harmonic emission in MgO,the atomic-like recollision mechanism of solid HHG,and the delocalization of HHG in ZnO.This strongly improved understanding will pave the way for controlling the solid-state HHG and visualizing the structure-dependent electron dynamics in solids.展开更多

文摘With the development of Educational informatization,the teaching of higher education is extended from the traditional classroom to the external world of the modern network classroom.This study focuses on the application of blended learning in the Business English class and selects college business English majors as subjects to conduct teaching experiments,questionnaires and student interviews.Through the analysis of the experimental results,we try to find an effective teaching method in classroom situations,which can contribute to the improvement of business English teaching and improve the quality of teaching.Blended learning model can not only meet the needs of learners,but also play a leading role with teaching effect.In this learning model,teachers can complete the functions of preparing lessons,assigning tasks,checking on-line jobs and sharing online information.

文摘Chinese new generation science fiction refers to the science fiction after the 1990s because of their diverse creative concepts,aesthetic values and new narrative modes.This paper summarizes the development of Chinese science fiction literature,and analyzes the utopias in Chinese new generation science fiction.The types of utopias in new generation science fiction can be divided into two aspects:temporal and spatial utopias and technological utopias.The characteristics of Chinese new generation's utopia include extraordinary Imagination,new and different ways of thinking.The functions of Chinese utopia are mainly reflected in the affirmation of ultimate values and the criticism of reality.The creation of new generations has brought new hope to Chinese science fiction literature,but in general,Chinese science fiction literature has a long way to go.

文摘Genre-based teaching approach is a pedagogy based on genre and genre analysis theory.Based on this teaching approach,the paper puts forward a three-stage model appropriate for the teaching of business English reading.It develops teaching activities focusing on the schematic structure of a discourse.Its purpose is to make students know that the discourses with different genres have different communicative purposes and discourse structures.Through a theoretical analysis and empirical study of the model,it is concluded that genre-based teaching approach can effectively help students improve their ability of business English reading comprehension.

文摘Nominalization refers to the process of producing a noun from another part of speech or the derivation of a noun phrase from an underlying clause.In order to fulfill the specific analysis of nominalization in business English contract,a corpus has been created with typical contracts.Based on a self-built business contract corpus,aspects of English nominalization,including its frequency of use,meaning selection and discourse position and function,have been examined.This study has found that nominalization is one of the most important characteristics of business contracts,and English nominalization can function mainly to improve the conciseness,formality,objectivity,and cohesiveness of the discourse.Meanwhile,the different characteristics of nominalization require different translation strategies and methods.The findings of this study may have implications for the business English teaching and translation.
文摘Lexical chunk approach refers to using chunk theory to guide students to establish chunk awareness,and with the help of various teaching methods,to create various opportunities to help students properly use fixed or semi-fixed expressions in communication.Through empirical investigation,it is found that there are problems in College English translation teaching,such as single teaching mode,concepts to be updated,cultural differences and obstacles,etc.This paper conducts in-depth discussion of its impact on college students'ability to translate from Chinese to English.Chunk teaching is helpful in fluency,accuracy and decency of language output.Finally,the author puts forward suggestions such as enhancing the awareness of language blocks,strengthening the accumulation of language blocks,optimizing the design of language block exercises,and attaching importance to the cultivation of learning strategies,so as to effectively improve the translation level of college students.

文摘High harmonic generation(HHG)from solids shows great application prospects in compact short-wavelength light sources and as a tool for imaging the dynamics in crystals with subnanometer spatial and attosecond temporal resolution.However,the underlying collision dynamics behind solid HHG is still intensively debated and no direct mapping relationship between the collision dynamics with band structure has been built.Here,we show that the electron and its associated hole can be elastically scattered by neighboring atoms when their wavelength approaches the atomic size.We reveal that the elastic scattering of electron/hole from neighboring atoms can dramatically influence the electron recombination with its left-behind hole,which turns out to be the fundamental reason for the anisotropic interband HHG observed recently in bulk crystals.Our findings link the electron/hole backward scattering with Van Hove singularities and forward scattering with critical lines in the band structure and thus build a clear mapping between the band structure and the harmonic spectrum.Our work provides a unifying picture for several seemingly unrelated experimental observations and theoretical predictions,including the anisotropic harmonic emission in MgO,the atomic-like recollision mechanism of solid HHG,and the delocalization of HHG in ZnO.This strongly improved understanding will pave the way for controlling the solid-state HHG and visualizing the structure-dependent electron dynamics in solids.
