Objective:To study the protective effect of resveratrol on lens epithelial cell apoptosis in diabetic cataract rat.Methods:A total of 84 Wistar rats were divided into 4 groups:12 in Group A(control group).24 in Group B(diabetic cataract group),24 in Group C(therapeutic-dose of resveratrol group) and 24 in Group D(low-dose of resveratrol group).Rats in Group B-D were given with60 mg/kg streptozotocin through intraperitoneal injection.Rats in Group C were given with 100mg/kg resveratrol and rats in Group D were given with 20 mg/kg resveratrol.The caspase-3expression levels and apoptosis ratios of LEC among each group were observed:the degrees of lens opacity in Group B-D after 12 weeks were compared.Results:There were significant differences in caspase-3 expression levels,apoptosis ratios of T.F.C among groups at 4 w,8 w and12 w(P<0.05).After 12 weeks,in Group B the degree of lens opacity was as follow:0(0.00%) in grade Ⅰ,3(37.50%) in grade Ⅱ,2(25.00%)in grade Ⅲ,2(25.00%)grade Ⅳ,and 1(12.50%) in gradeⅤ:in Group C:2(25.00%)in grade Ⅰ,4(50.00%) in grade Ⅱ.2(25.00%)in grade Ⅲ,0(0.00%)gradeⅣ,and 0(0.00%) in grade Ⅴ;in Group D:1(12.50%)in grade Ⅰ,4(50.00%) in grade Ⅱ,2(25.00%)in grade Ⅲ,1(12.50%) grade Ⅳ,and 0(0.00%) in grade Ⅴ.The.difference among Group B-D was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:Resveratrol has protective effect on lens epithelial cell apoptosis in diabetic cataract rat,and the effect is relative to its dose. 展开更多

目的通过美伐他汀降低β-淀粉样蛋白(Aβ)神经毒性,从机制角度探讨他汀类药物辅助治疗阿尔茨海默病的可能性。方法在实验室培养神经细胞,并加入美伐他汀,观察美伐他汀是否具有活化AMPK的能力,并观察在给予美伐他汀的同时,Aβ导致的过磷... 目的通过美伐他汀降低β-淀粉样蛋白(Aβ)神经毒性,从机制角度探讨他汀类药物辅助治疗阿尔茨海默病的可能性。方法在实验室培养神经细胞,并加入美伐他汀,观察美伐他汀是否具有活化AMPK的能力,并观察在给予美伐他汀的同时,Aβ导致的过磷酸化现象是否得到抑制。结果在样品中加入美伐他汀时,人神经上皮瘤细胞(SK-N-MC)神经细胞数降低情况改善。Western blot检测结果发现,美伐他汀作用24 h后,SK-N-MC神经细胞AMPK磷酸化。结论美伐他汀可能通过提高AMPK活性,对抗Aβ导致的神经毒性,并进一步抑制蛋白质过磷酸化,发挥保护神经的作用。 展开更多

AIM:To evaluate the trend of glaucoma internal filtration surgeries for inpatients between 2015 and 2021 at the Eye Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University.METHODS:A review of the medical records of inpatients who had been diagnosed with glaucoma and received antiglaucoma surgery between January 1,2015 and December 31,2021 was conducted.The glaucoma diagnosis in this study included primary open angle glaucoma,primary angleclosure glaucoma,secondary glaucoma,and paediatric glaucoma.The types of surgeries were categorised as internal filtration,external filtration,and cyclodestruction surgery based on the pathway of aqueous humor outflow.The trend of these glaucoma surgeries in the sample of patients with different types of glaucoma was then analysed.RESULTS:The number of patients hospitalised for glaucoma surgery increased yearly,from 752 in 2015 to 1373 in 2021,at the Eye Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University.Regarding the patients diagnosed with primary open angle glaucoma,internal filtration surgery increased from 27.40%of the sample to 54.40%of the sample,while external filtration surgery decreased from 71.50%to 44.20%between 2015 and 2021.For paediatric glaucoma,internal filtration surgery increased from 37.50%in 2015 to 88.20%in 2021.Whilst different types of surgeries were performed on the sample of patients with secondary glaucoma,the proportion of internal filtration surgery also showed an increase from 18.20%in 2015 to 40.90%in 2021.Meanwhile,internal filtration surgery in the patient sample with primary angle-closure glaucoma already accounted for over 70.00%in 2015,and showed a small increase by 2021.CONCLUSION:As surgical technology and surgical experience continue to elevate and improve,the range of glaucoma surgeries are correspondingly evolving.This study find that internal filtration surgeries accounted for an increasing proportion of treatments in the surgical management of glaucoma between 2015 and 2021. 展开更多

Facile strategy enabling the fabrication of carbon dots(CDs)with favorable performance useful for various applications is highly desirable.Here,we report the fabrication of highly fluorescent carbon dots(CDs)towards sensitive metal ion detection,brightly fluorescent printing pattern,as well as green flame retardants for synthetic polymeric materials.CDs are synthesized by solvothermal treatment of polypropylene carbonate(PPC)with ethylenediamine,and the quantum yield of CDs could increase from 30%to 86%by further adding trace of citric acid.The abundant functional groups on the surface of CDs allow CDs well incorporated into polymers to form CD-loaded polystyrene(PS)microspheres,which are employed to construct fluorescent supraballs via triphase microfluidic technique and used as“inks”for uniform fluorescent patterns.Interestingly,the resultant CDs show good flame retardancy for highly flammable polymeric foams and fibers.The CDs surpass previously reported flame-retardant additives,to show excellent combustion resistance that the addition of 20 wt%CDs causes 75%decrease in the peak of heat release rate(P-HRR)for polyurethane(PU)foams.Significantly,a molecular dynamics simulation process for PU/CDs combustion is constructed.This work may spur the preparation and application of highperformance carbon-based nanomaterials. 展开更多
