The compatibility for this blending system can be improved by this special interaction and 20/80 wt is the optimum blending composition with good compatibility. FTIR results further certify that strong interactions exist in the blending system.展开更多

The latex particles can maintain an appreciablestability during the emulsifier-free emulsion copolymerization of MMA and BA in thepresence of HEMA The average particle diameter increase with an increase of totalsolids content, HEMA content, PSP content, ioniC strength of the system and monomerfeed rate, and decrease with the monomer feed ratio From 3/1(MMA/BA;molar ratio.)to1/3. The stability of this reaction system is improved by adding HEMA as nonioniccomonomer High solids content (50%) latex with monodisperse particle can beobtained using this process.展开更多

Storage stability klow behavior of the latexes, morphology of the obtained latex particles, dynamic viscoelastic behavior, tensilestrength and water resistance properties of the resulted copolymers were investigated. The experimental results show that with the addition of AHPS, stability of the emulsionis greatly improved that there appears no apparent precipitation dunring thepolymerization and storage at room temperature for 6 months and at -10℃ for fourmonths. Flow of the latexes follows the Bingham body laws, diameter of the latexparticles is about 0.6μn, of which is larger than that of by conventional emulsionpolymerization(0.12μm). In addition, not only water resistance of the copolymersobtained by emulsifier-free emulsion polymerization is greatly improved, but alsotensile strength is obviously enhanced.展开更多

With this process high polymer: surfactant weight ratios (40:1 or greater),relatively concentrated (~30wt. %) latexes and small (~60nm) particle diameters were obtained.Properties of the latexes were characterized by TEM, DSC, dynamic light scattering, and IR spectroscopy.展开更多
