Methods Expression of GNAI1 in HCC samples was determined by qRT-PC...Objective To explore the role and regulation of guanine nucleotide-binding protein G(i), a-1 subunit (GNAI1) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Methods Expression of GNAI1 in HCC samples was determined by qRT-PCR and immunohistochemical (IHC) staining. Huh-7 and SNU-387 cells stably expressing GNAI1 were established by the infection of lentivirus transducing unit containing GNAI1. siRNA against GNAI1 was transfected into SMMC-7721 cells to knock down the GNAI1 expression in HCC cells. Mir-320a/c/d mimics were transfected into SMMC-7721 and SK-Hep-1 cells and the expression of GNAll was determined by Western blot. The migration and invasion of Huh-7, SNU-387, SK-Hep-1 and SMMC-7721 cells were investigated by Transwell assays. Results The GNAI1 protein was significantly downregulated in HCC samples without changes in its mRNA levels. GNAI1 could inhibit the migration and invasion of HCC cells in vitro. Further investigations indicated that GNAI1 was a target of miR-320a/c/d in HCC cells. Transwell assays demonstrated that these microRNAs could promote the migratory ability and invasivesess of HCC cells in vitro. Conclusions GNAII is downregulated in HCC and inhibits the migration and invasion of HCC cells. This study is the first to investigate the role of GNAI1 in cancer. Regulation of GNAI1 by miR-320a/c/d indicates new therapeutic avenues for targeting HCC metastasis.展开更多
Polysaccharides are widely present in herbs with multiple activities,especially immunity regulation and metabolic benefits for metabolic disorders.However,the underlying mechanisms are not well under-stood.Functional ...Polysaccharides are widely present in herbs with multiple activities,especially immunity regulation and metabolic benefits for metabolic disorders.However,the underlying mechanisms are not well under-stood.Functional metabolomics is increasingly used to investigate systemic effects on the host by iden-tifying metabolites with particular functions.This study explores the mechanisms underlying the metabolic benefits of Astragalus polysaccharides(APS)by adopting a functional metabolomics strategy.The effects of APS were determined in eight-week high-fat diet(HFD)-fed obese mice.Then,gas chromatography–time-of-flight mass spectrometry(GC–TOFMS)-based untargeted metabolomics was performed for an analysis of serum and liver tissues,and liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrom-etry(LC–MS/MS)-based targeted metabolomics was performed.The potential functions of the metabo-lites were tested with in vitro and in vivo models of metabolic disorders.Our results first confirmed the metabolic benefits of APS in obese mice.Then,metabolomics analysis revealed that APS supplemen-tation reversed the HFD-induced metabolic changes,and identified 2-hydroxybutyric acid(2-HB)as a potential functional metabolite for APS activity that was significantly decreased by a HFD and reversed by APS.Further study indicated that 2-HB inhibited oleic acid(OA)-induced triglyceride(TG)accumula-tion.It was also found to stimulate the expression of proteins in lipid degradation in hepatocytes and TG lipolysis in 3T3-L1 cells.Moreover,it was found to reduce serum TG and regulate the proteins involved in lipid degradation in high-fat and high-sucrose(HFHS)-fed mice.In conclusion,our study demonstrates that the metabolic benefits of APS are at least partially due to 2-HB generation,which modulated lipid metabolism both in vitro and in vivo.Our results also highlight that functional metabolomics is practical for investigating the mechanism underlying the systemic benefits of plant polysaccharides.展开更多
A composite explosive based on 1,3,5-trinitro-1,3,5-triazinane(RDX)was prepared by electrostaticspray method with dioctyl sebacate(DOS)as desensitizer.After preparation,the particle size and crystal structure were cha...A composite explosive based on 1,3,5-trinitro-1,3,5-triazinane(RDX)was prepared by electrostaticspray method with dioctyl sebacate(DOS)as desensitizer.After preparation,the particle size and crystal structure were characterized and chemical features,such as chemical bonds,functional groups,thermal decomposition parameters and mechanical sensitivity were investigated as well.In terms of the morphologies of the composites,the particle sizes were in the range of 1e3 mm.Compared with RDX,the crystal types,chemical bonds and functional groups of the RDX/DOS composites were unchanged.The activation energy of the composites was lower than that of raw RDX,and the 3wt%DOS composites had the lowest activation energy.The impact sensitivity and friction sensitivity of the RDX/DOS composites were lower than those of raw RDX,and the 10wt%DOS composites had the highest H50(125.9 cm)and the lowest friction sensitivity(8%).展开更多
Shockwaves from fuel-air explosive(FAE)cloud explosions may cause significant casualties.The ground overpressure field is usually used to evaluate the damage range of explosion shockwaves.In this paper,a finite elemen...Shockwaves from fuel-air explosive(FAE)cloud explosions may cause significant casualties.The ground overpressure field is usually used to evaluate the damage range of explosion shockwaves.In this paper,a finite element model of multi-sources FAE explosion is established to simulate the process of multiple shockwaves propagation and interaction.The model is verified with the experimental data of a fourfoldsource FAE explosion,with the total fuel mass of 340 kg.Simulation results show that the overpressure fields of multi-sources FAE explosions are different from that of the single-source.In the case of multisources,the overpressure fields are influenced significantly by source scattering distance and source number.Subsequently,damage ranges of overpressure under three different levels are calculated.Within a suitable source scattering distance,the damage range of multi-sources situation is greater than that of the single-source,under the same amount of total fuel mass.This research provides a basis for personnel shockwave protection from multi-sources FAE explosion.展开更多

Values ra...Tritium concentrations in precipitation can be used as a criterion to evaluate the tritium baseline of the environment. The tritium concentration in precipitation in Shanghai during 2014-2015 was determined. Values ranged from 0.68 ± 0.04 to 4.11 ± 0.39 Bq/L, and it showed a decreasing trend compared with historical data; however,the values were slightly higher than the natural background tritium level. Additionally, the tritium concentration shows a seasonal variation: It was higher in autumn and winter and lower in summer and spring. A comparison of concentrations in precipitation in Shanghai and around the Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant reveals no correlation,implying that the nuclear power plant operations may not affect the environment of Shanghai. Thus, the raised tritium concentrations in Shanghai might be due to the effects of monsoons, spring leak, raindrop, or other activities that generate tritium there. Those activities may include chemistry research that uses tritium as a tracer.展开更多

Three non-functional requirements (NFRs), i.e. model composability, domain specific modeling, and model evolvability, are g...Combat system effectiveness simulation (CSES) is a special type of complex system simulation. Three non-functional requirements (NFRs), i.e. model composability, domain specific modeling, and model evolvability, are gaining higher priority from CSES users when evaluating different modeling methodologies for CSES. Traditional CSES modeling methodologies are either domain-neutral (lack of domain characteristics consideration and limited support for model composability) or domain-oriented (lack of openness and evolvability) and fall short of the three NFRs. Inspired by the concept of architecture in systems engineering and software engineering fields, we extend it into a concept of model architecture for complex simulation systems, and propose a model architecture-oriented modeling methodology in which the model architecture plays a central role in achieving the three NFRs. Various model-driven engineering (MDE) approaches and technologies, including simulation modeling platform (SMP), unified modeling language (UML), domain specific modeling (DSM), eclipse modeling framework (EMF), graphical modeling framework (GMF), and so forth, are applied where possible in representing the CSES model architecture and its components' behaviors from physical and cognitive domain aspects. A prototype CSES system, called weapon effectiveness simulation system (WESS), and a non-trivial air-combat simulation example are presented to demonstrate the methodology.展开更多
Detecting non-motor drivers’helmets has significant implications for traffic control.Currently,most helmet detection methods are susceptible to the complex background and need more accuracy and better robustness of s...Detecting non-motor drivers’helmets has significant implications for traffic control.Currently,most helmet detection methods are susceptible to the complex background and need more accuracy and better robustness of small object detection,which are unsuitable for practical application scenar-ios.Therefore,this paper proposes a new helmet-wearing detection algorithm based on the You Only Look Once version 5(YOLOv5).First,the Dilated convolution In Coordinate Attention(DICA)layer is added to the backbone network.DICA combines the coordinated attention mechanism with atrous convolution to replace the original convolution layer,which can increase the perceptual field of the network to get more contextual information.Also,it can reduce the network’s learning of unnecessary features in the background and get attention to small objects.Second,the Rebuild Bidirectional Feature Pyramid Network(Re-BiFPN)is used as a feature extraction network.Re-BiFPN uses cross-scale feature fusion to combine the semantic information features at the high level with the spatial information features at the bottom level,which facilitates the model to learn object features at different scales.Verified on the proposed“Helmet Wearing dataset for Non-motor Drivers(HWND),”the results show that the proposed model is superior to the current detection algorithms,with the mean average precision(mAP)of 94.3%under complex background.展开更多

To determine the Influence of liquid bridge force on physical stability, two detection devices were designed. The laws obtained from microscopic experiments are used to verify the physical stability of fuel under different component ratios. The liquid bridge force is found to increase with the droplet volume. Multiliquid bridges above one critical saturation can generate significant resultant forces compared to single-liquid bridges of the same volume. There exist four states of solid-liquid mixed fuel with increasing liquid saturation rate. The liquid bridge force between the solid and liquid plays a dominant role in the physical stability of the first three states. There may be two stages involved in the stratification process for state 4 fuel, and the liquid viscosity is another factor that cannot be ignored. In the process of selecting a fuel ratio, a larger liquid bridge force between the components can be obtained by properly improving the wetting effect so that the fuel shows better physical stability.展开更多

In this paper a ...Human body feature extraction based on 2D images provides an efficient method for many applications, e.g. non-contact body size measurements, constructing 3D human model and recognizing human actions. In this paper a systematic approach is proposed to detect feature points of human body automatically from its front and side images. Firstly, an efficient approach for silhouette and contour detection is used to represent the contour curves of a human body shape with Freeman’s 8-connected chain codes. The contour curves are considered as a number of segments connected together. Then, a series of feature points on human body are extracted based on the specified rules by measuring the differences between the directions of the segments. In total, 101 feature points with clearly geometric properties (that rather accurately reflect the bump or turning of the contours) are extracted automatically, including 27 points corresponding to the definitions of the landmarks about garment measurements. Finally, the proposed approach was tested on ten human subjects and the entire 101 feature points with specific geography geometrical characteristics were correctly extracted, indicating an effective and robust performance.展开更多
Many existing intelligent recognition technologies require huge datasets for model learning.However,it is not easy to collect rectal cancer images,so the performance is usually low with limited training samples.In add...Many existing intelligent recognition technologies require huge datasets for model learning.However,it is not easy to collect rectal cancer images,so the performance is usually low with limited training samples.In addition,traditional rectal cancer staging is time-consuming,error-prone,and susceptible to physicians’subjective awareness as well as professional expertise.To settle these deficiencies,we propose a novel deep-learning model to classify the rectal cancer stages of T2 and T3.First,a novel deep learning model(RectalNet)is constructed based on residual learning,which combines the squeeze-excitation with the asymptotic output layer and new cross-convolution layer links in the residual block group.Furthermore,a two-stage data augmentation is designed to increase the number of images and reduce deep learning’s dependence on the volume of data.The experiment results demonstrate that the proposed method is superior to many existing ones,with an overall accuracy of 0.8583.Oppositely,other traditional techniques,such as VGG16,DenseNet121,EL,and DERNet,have an average accuracy of 0.6981,0.7032,0.7500,and 0.7685,respectively.展开更多
BACKGROUND Solitary plasmacytoma in the left rib is rare and can cause chest discomfort such as chest pain and tightness,and its clinical manifestations are not typical,so it is often misdiagnosed.We report a case of ...BACKGROUND Solitary plasmacytoma in the left rib is rare and can cause chest discomfort such as chest pain and tightness,and its clinical manifestations are not typical,so it is often misdiagnosed.We report a case of left costal plasmacytoma misdiagnosed as angina pectoris.We also review the literature and provide suggestions as to how to avoid misdiagnosis.CASE SUMMARY A 77-year-old man with a history of intermittent chest tightness for 3 years presented with pain in the left chest for 1 wk and was admitted to hospital.The cardiologists initially diagnosed angina pectoris but the findings of coronary angiography were not consistent with the symptoms.Computed tomography showed that the left eighth rib mass was accompanied by bone destruction.The patient was transferred to our department for further treatment.Preoperative biopsy indicated that the lesion was possibly malignant,and elective surgery was performed to remove the lesion.The size of the tumor was about 4 cm.The tumor was spindle-shaped and protruded into the pleural cavity,without invading the lungs.Postoperative pathology confirmed that the left rib lesion was plasmacytoma.After 14 mo follow-up,the patient died of systemic metastasis.CONCLUSION Left rib solitary plasmacytoma is a rare disease confined to a specific rib and can cause local pain.Attention should be paid to the differential diagnosis of angina pectoris to avoid misdiagnosis.展开更多
Proton exchange membrane fuel cells(PEMFCs)are largely used in various applications because of their pollution-free products and high energy conversion efficiency.In order to improve the related design,in the present ...Proton exchange membrane fuel cells(PEMFCs)are largely used in various applications because of their pollution-free products and high energy conversion efficiency.In order to improve the related design,in the present work a new spiral flow field with a bypass is proposed.The reaction gas enters the flow field in the central path and diffuses in two directions through the flow channel and the bypass.The bypasses are arranged incrementally.The number of bypasses and the cross-section size of the bypasses are varied parametrically while a single-cell model of the PEMFC is used.The influence of the concentration of liquid water and oxygen in the cell on the performance of different flow fields is determined by means of Computational fluid dynamics(COMSOL Multiphysics software).Results show that when the bypass number is 48 and its cross-sectional area is 0.5 mm^(2),the cell exhibits the best performances.展开更多

While transition-metal-catalyzed enantioselective diarylation of tethered alkenes has been employed to prepare important chiral cyclic compounds, the direct use of simple arenes as aryl precursors is still underdeveloped, probably due to the difficulties in the effective control of the reactivity, site-selectivity and/or enantioselectivity. Herein we report an asymmetric Pd/Ag dual metal catalytic system for the non-directed, site-and enantioselective domino Heck/intermolecular C–H functionalization of arenes.Mechanistic studies showed that Pd and Ag act in cooperation in the catalysis and the chiral bisphosphine ligand plays a bifunctional role, i.e., assisting the silver species in the cleavage of the aryl C–H bond, while inducing the enantioselectivity on direct complexation with palladium. This method provides an efficient approach to the corresponding chiral oxindoles with good enantiomeric excesses from a broad scope of arenes, including fluoroarenes, heteroarenes and several complex products derived from medicines or natural products.展开更多

While the Pd-catalyzed oxidative C-H olefination of arenes, also known as Fujiwara-Moritani reaction, has been established as one of the most efficient methods, the substrates are largely limited to terminal olefins with electron-withdrawing group(s). Herein, we report a synergistic silver-mediated and palladium-catalyzed non-directed C-H olefination of arenes with vinyl(pseudo)halides, which offers a complementary strategy to the typical Fujiwara-Moritani reaction. The reactions proceeded well for a variety of halogenated arenes, heteroarenes, and olefin substrates, providing an efficient access to various multi-substituted aryl olefins, including trisubstituted/tetrasubstituted olefins and several complex olefins derived from medicines or natural products. Mechanistic studies indicated a bimetallic Pd/Ag cooperation is operative in the catalysis, i.e., the reaction is initiated by aryl C-H bond cleavage via ligation with phosphine/Ag species, followed by transferring of the aryl moiety to a vinyl palladium intermediate,which is in turn formed by oxidative addition of vinyl(pseudo)halide to a Pd complex. This method enables the synthesis of a wide range of challenging multi-substituted vinyl products from simple arenes(directing-group free) in a streamlined and controllable fashion.展开更多
To explore air contamination resulting from special biomass combustion and suspended dust in Lhasa,the present study focused on the size distribution and chemical characteristics of particulate matter(PM)emission resu...To explore air contamination resulting from special biomass combustion and suspended dust in Lhasa,the present study focused on the size distribution and chemical characteristics of particulate matter(PM)emission resulting from 7 types of non-fossil pollution sources.We investigated the concentration and size distribution of trace elements from 7 pollution sources collected in Lhasa.Combining Lhasa’s atmospheric particulate matter data,enrichment factors(EFs)have been calculated to examine the potential impact of those pollution sources on the atmosphere quality of Lhasa.The highest mass concentration of total elements of biomass combustion appeared at PM_(0.4),and the second highest concentration existed in the size fraction 0.4-1μm;the higher proportion(12%)of toxicmetals was produced by biomass combustion.The elemental composition of suspended dust and atmospheric particulate matter was close(except for As and Cd);the highest concentration of elements was all noted in PM_(2.5-10)(PM3-10).Potassium was found to be one of the main biomass markers.The proportion of Cu in suspended dust is significantly lower than that of atmospheric particulate matter(0.53%and 3.75%),which indicates that there are other anthropogenic sources.The EFs analysis showed that the Cr,Cu,Zn,and Pb produced by biomass combustion were highly enriched(EFs>100)in all particle sizes.The EFs of most trace elements increased with decreasing particle size,indicating the greater influence of humanfactors on smaller particles.展开更多

These tradeoffs have pr...Growth-defense tradeoffs are thought to occur in plants due to resource restrictions, which demand prior- itization towards either growth or defense, depending on external and internal factors. These tradeoffs have profound implications in agriculture and natural ecosystems, as both processes are vital for plant survival, reproduction, and, ulti- mately, plant fitness. While many of the molecular mechanisms underlying growth and defense tradeoffs remain to be elucidated, hormone crosstalk has emerged as a major player in regulating tradeoffs needed to achieve a balance. In this review, we cover recent advances in understanding growth-defense tradeoffs in plants as well as what is known regard- ing the underlying molecular mechanisms. Specifically, we address evidence supporting the growth-defense tradeoff concept, as well as known interactions between defense signaling and growth signaling. Understanding the molecular basis of these tradeoffs in plants should provide a foundation for the development of breeding strategies that optimize the growth-defense balance to maximize crop yield to meet rising global food and biofuel demands.展开更多

文摘Polysaccharides are widely present in herbs with multiple activities,especially immunity regulation and metabolic benefits for metabolic disorders.However,the underlying mechanisms are not well under-stood.Functional metabolomics is increasingly used to investigate systemic effects on the host by iden-tifying metabolites with particular functions.This study explores the mechanisms underlying the metabolic benefits of Astragalus polysaccharides(APS)by adopting a functional metabolomics strategy.The effects of APS were determined in eight-week high-fat diet(HFD)-fed obese mice.Then,gas chromatography–time-of-flight mass spectrometry(GC–TOFMS)-based untargeted metabolomics was performed for an analysis of serum and liver tissues,and liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrom-etry(LC–MS/MS)-based targeted metabolomics was performed.The potential functions of the metabo-lites were tested with in vitro and in vivo models of metabolic disorders.Our results first confirmed the metabolic benefits of APS in obese mice.Then,metabolomics analysis revealed that APS supplemen-tation reversed the HFD-induced metabolic changes,and identified 2-hydroxybutyric acid(2-HB)as a potential functional metabolite for APS activity that was significantly decreased by a HFD and reversed by APS.Further study indicated that 2-HB inhibited oleic acid(OA)-induced triglyceride(TG)accumula-tion.It was also found to stimulate the expression of proteins in lipid degradation in hepatocytes and TG lipolysis in 3T3-L1 cells.Moreover,it was found to reduce serum TG and regulate the proteins involved in lipid degradation in high-fat and high-sucrose(HFHS)-fed mice.In conclusion,our study demonstrates that the metabolic benefits of APS are at least partially due to 2-HB generation,which modulated lipid metabolism both in vitro and in vivo.Our results also highlight that functional metabolomics is practical for investigating the mechanism underlying the systemic benefits of plant polysaccharides.
文摘A composite explosive based on 1,3,5-trinitro-1,3,5-triazinane(RDX)was prepared by electrostaticspray method with dioctyl sebacate(DOS)as desensitizer.After preparation,the particle size and crystal structure were characterized and chemical features,such as chemical bonds,functional groups,thermal decomposition parameters and mechanical sensitivity were investigated as well.In terms of the morphologies of the composites,the particle sizes were in the range of 1e3 mm.Compared with RDX,the crystal types,chemical bonds and functional groups of the RDX/DOS composites were unchanged.The activation energy of the composites was lower than that of raw RDX,and the 3wt%DOS composites had the lowest activation energy.The impact sensitivity and friction sensitivity of the RDX/DOS composites were lower than those of raw RDX,and the 10wt%DOS composites had the highest H50(125.9 cm)and the lowest friction sensitivity(8%).

文摘Shockwaves from fuel-air explosive(FAE)cloud explosions may cause significant casualties.The ground overpressure field is usually used to evaluate the damage range of explosion shockwaves.In this paper,a finite element model of multi-sources FAE explosion is established to simulate the process of multiple shockwaves propagation and interaction.The model is verified with the experimental data of a fourfoldsource FAE explosion,with the total fuel mass of 340 kg.Simulation results show that the overpressure fields of multi-sources FAE explosions are different from that of the single-source.In the case of multisources,the overpressure fields are influenced significantly by source scattering distance and source number.Subsequently,damage ranges of overpressure under three different levels are calculated.Within a suitable source scattering distance,the damage range of multi-sources situation is greater than that of the single-source,under the same amount of total fuel mass.This research provides a basis for personnel shockwave protection from multi-sources FAE explosion.
文摘Tritium concentrations in precipitation can be used as a criterion to evaluate the tritium baseline of the environment. The tritium concentration in precipitation in Shanghai during 2014-2015 was determined. Values ranged from 0.68 ± 0.04 to 4.11 ± 0.39 Bq/L, and it showed a decreasing trend compared with historical data; however,the values were slightly higher than the natural background tritium level. Additionally, the tritium concentration shows a seasonal variation: It was higher in autumn and winter and lower in summer and spring. A comparison of concentrations in precipitation in Shanghai and around the Qinshan Nuclear Power Plant reveals no correlation,implying that the nuclear power plant operations may not affect the environment of Shanghai. Thus, the raised tritium concentrations in Shanghai might be due to the effects of monsoons, spring leak, raindrop, or other activities that generate tritium there. Those activities may include chemistry research that uses tritium as a tracer.

文摘Combat system effectiveness simulation (CSES) is a special type of complex system simulation. Three non-functional requirements (NFRs), i.e. model composability, domain specific modeling, and model evolvability, are gaining higher priority from CSES users when evaluating different modeling methodologies for CSES. Traditional CSES modeling methodologies are either domain-neutral (lack of domain characteristics consideration and limited support for model composability) or domain-oriented (lack of openness and evolvability) and fall short of the three NFRs. Inspired by the concept of architecture in systems engineering and software engineering fields, we extend it into a concept of model architecture for complex simulation systems, and propose a model architecture-oriented modeling methodology in which the model architecture plays a central role in achieving the three NFRs. Various model-driven engineering (MDE) approaches and technologies, including simulation modeling platform (SMP), unified modeling language (UML), domain specific modeling (DSM), eclipse modeling framework (EMF), graphical modeling framework (GMF), and so forth, are applied where possible in representing the CSES model architecture and its components' behaviors from physical and cognitive domain aspects. A prototype CSES system, called weapon effectiveness simulation system (WESS), and a non-trivial air-combat simulation example are presented to demonstrate the methodology.

文摘Detecting non-motor drivers’helmets has significant implications for traffic control.Currently,most helmet detection methods are susceptible to the complex background and need more accuracy and better robustness of small object detection,which are unsuitable for practical application scenar-ios.Therefore,this paper proposes a new helmet-wearing detection algorithm based on the You Only Look Once version 5(YOLOv5).First,the Dilated convolution In Coordinate Attention(DICA)layer is added to the backbone network.DICA combines the coordinated attention mechanism with atrous convolution to replace the original convolution layer,which can increase the perceptual field of the network to get more contextual information.Also,it can reduce the network’s learning of unnecessary features in the background and get attention to small objects.Second,the Rebuild Bidirectional Feature Pyramid Network(Re-BiFPN)is used as a feature extraction network.Re-BiFPN uses cross-scale feature fusion to combine the semantic information features at the high level with the spatial information features at the bottom level,which facilitates the model to learn object features at different scales.Verified on the proposed“Helmet Wearing dataset for Non-motor Drivers(HWND),”the results show that the proposed model is superior to the current detection algorithms,with the mean average precision(mAP)of 94.3%under complex background.

文摘The physical stability of solid-liquid fuel is a factor that needs to be considered for fuel product practicability for storage and transportation. To determine the Influence of liquid bridge force on physical stability, two detection devices were designed. The laws obtained from microscopic experiments are used to verify the physical stability of fuel under different component ratios. The liquid bridge force is found to increase with the droplet volume. Multiliquid bridges above one critical saturation can generate significant resultant forces compared to single-liquid bridges of the same volume. There exist four states of solid-liquid mixed fuel with increasing liquid saturation rate. The liquid bridge force between the solid and liquid plays a dominant role in the physical stability of the first three states. There may be two stages involved in the stratification process for state 4 fuel, and the liquid viscosity is another factor that cannot be ignored. In the process of selecting a fuel ratio, a larger liquid bridge force between the components can be obtained by properly improving the wetting effect so that the fuel shows better physical stability.
文摘Human body feature extraction based on 2D images provides an efficient method for many applications, e.g. non-contact body size measurements, constructing 3D human model and recognizing human actions. In this paper a systematic approach is proposed to detect feature points of human body automatically from its front and side images. Firstly, an efficient approach for silhouette and contour detection is used to represent the contour curves of a human body shape with Freeman’s 8-connected chain codes. The contour curves are considered as a number of segments connected together. Then, a series of feature points on human body are extracted based on the specified rules by measuring the differences between the directions of the segments. In total, 101 feature points with clearly geometric properties (that rather accurately reflect the bump or turning of the contours) are extracted automatically, including 27 points corresponding to the definitions of the landmarks about garment measurements. Finally, the proposed approach was tested on ten human subjects and the entire 101 feature points with specific geography geometrical characteristics were correctly extracted, indicating an effective and robust performance.

文摘Many existing intelligent recognition technologies require huge datasets for model learning.However,it is not easy to collect rectal cancer images,so the performance is usually low with limited training samples.In addition,traditional rectal cancer staging is time-consuming,error-prone,and susceptible to physicians’subjective awareness as well as professional expertise.To settle these deficiencies,we propose a novel deep-learning model to classify the rectal cancer stages of T2 and T3.First,a novel deep learning model(RectalNet)is constructed based on residual learning,which combines the squeeze-excitation with the asymptotic output layer and new cross-convolution layer links in the residual block group.Furthermore,a two-stage data augmentation is designed to increase the number of images and reduce deep learning’s dependence on the volume of data.The experiment results demonstrate that the proposed method is superior to many existing ones,with an overall accuracy of 0.8583.Oppositely,other traditional techniques,such as VGG16,DenseNet121,EL,and DERNet,have an average accuracy of 0.6981,0.7032,0.7500,and 0.7685,respectively.
文摘BACKGROUND Solitary plasmacytoma in the left rib is rare and can cause chest discomfort such as chest pain and tightness,and its clinical manifestations are not typical,so it is often misdiagnosed.We report a case of left costal plasmacytoma misdiagnosed as angina pectoris.We also review the literature and provide suggestions as to how to avoid misdiagnosis.CASE SUMMARY A 77-year-old man with a history of intermittent chest tightness for 3 years presented with pain in the left chest for 1 wk and was admitted to hospital.The cardiologists initially diagnosed angina pectoris but the findings of coronary angiography were not consistent with the symptoms.Computed tomography showed that the left eighth rib mass was accompanied by bone destruction.The patient was transferred to our department for further treatment.Preoperative biopsy indicated that the lesion was possibly malignant,and elective surgery was performed to remove the lesion.The size of the tumor was about 4 cm.The tumor was spindle-shaped and protruded into the pleural cavity,without invading the lungs.Postoperative pathology confirmed that the left rib lesion was plasmacytoma.After 14 mo follow-up,the patient died of systemic metastasis.CONCLUSION Left rib solitary plasmacytoma is a rare disease confined to a specific rib and can cause local pain.Attention should be paid to the differential diagnosis of angina pectoris to avoid misdiagnosis.

文摘Proton exchange membrane fuel cells(PEMFCs)are largely used in various applications because of their pollution-free products and high energy conversion efficiency.In order to improve the related design,in the present work a new spiral flow field with a bypass is proposed.The reaction gas enters the flow field in the central path and diffuses in two directions through the flow channel and the bypass.The bypasses are arranged incrementally.The number of bypasses and the cross-section size of the bypasses are varied parametrically while a single-cell model of the PEMFC is used.The influence of the concentration of liquid water and oxygen in the cell on the performance of different flow fields is determined by means of Computational fluid dynamics(COMSOL Multiphysics software).Results show that when the bypass number is 48 and its cross-sectional area is 0.5 mm^(2),the cell exhibits the best performances.
文摘Based on the water quality detection and analysis of guar gum waste liquid,as well as the data of experiments on the treatment of waste liquid under different viscosity and pH conditions,the influencing factors of solid-liquid separation under conventional"coagulation+filtration"treatment process are studied.Under the conventional"coagulation+filtration"treatment process,the viscosity of guar gum waste liquid is lower than 3 mPa·s;the pH is 6-7.5;the filtration accuracy is not lower than 20μm,which can meet better treatment conditions.This experimental study provides an experimental basis for the optimal design of the treatment process of guar gum waste liquid.

文摘By virtue of the atom-and step-economy, utilization of simple arenes as a supplant of pre-prepared aryl metal species or aryl halides for the synthesis of arylated chiral molecules has attracted great attention from the synthetic community. While transition-metal-catalyzed enantioselective diarylation of tethered alkenes has been employed to prepare important chiral cyclic compounds, the direct use of simple arenes as aryl precursors is still underdeveloped, probably due to the difficulties in the effective control of the reactivity, site-selectivity and/or enantioselectivity. Herein we report an asymmetric Pd/Ag dual metal catalytic system for the non-directed, site-and enantioselective domino Heck/intermolecular C–H functionalization of arenes.Mechanistic studies showed that Pd and Ag act in cooperation in the catalysis and the chiral bisphosphine ligand plays a bifunctional role, i.e., assisting the silver species in the cleavage of the aryl C–H bond, while inducing the enantioselectivity on direct complexation with palladium. This method provides an efficient approach to the corresponding chiral oxindoles with good enantiomeric excesses from a broad scope of arenes, including fluoroarenes, heteroarenes and several complex products derived from medicines or natural products.

文摘Transition metal-catalyzed olefination of aryl C-H bond is a powerful tool for the synthesis of alkenes. While the Pd-catalyzed oxidative C-H olefination of arenes, also known as Fujiwara-Moritani reaction, has been established as one of the most efficient methods, the substrates are largely limited to terminal olefins with electron-withdrawing group(s). Herein, we report a synergistic silver-mediated and palladium-catalyzed non-directed C-H olefination of arenes with vinyl(pseudo)halides, which offers a complementary strategy to the typical Fujiwara-Moritani reaction. The reactions proceeded well for a variety of halogenated arenes, heteroarenes, and olefin substrates, providing an efficient access to various multi-substituted aryl olefins, including trisubstituted/tetrasubstituted olefins and several complex olefins derived from medicines or natural products. Mechanistic studies indicated a bimetallic Pd/Ag cooperation is operative in the catalysis, i.e., the reaction is initiated by aryl C-H bond cleavage via ligation with phosphine/Ag species, followed by transferring of the aryl moiety to a vinyl palladium intermediate,which is in turn formed by oxidative addition of vinyl(pseudo)halide to a Pd complex. This method enables the synthesis of a wide range of challenging multi-substituted vinyl products from simple arenes(directing-group free) in a streamlined and controllable fashion.

文摘To explore air contamination resulting from special biomass combustion and suspended dust in Lhasa,the present study focused on the size distribution and chemical characteristics of particulate matter(PM)emission resulting from 7 types of non-fossil pollution sources.We investigated the concentration and size distribution of trace elements from 7 pollution sources collected in Lhasa.Combining Lhasa’s atmospheric particulate matter data,enrichment factors(EFs)have been calculated to examine the potential impact of those pollution sources on the atmosphere quality of Lhasa.The highest mass concentration of total elements of biomass combustion appeared at PM_(0.4),and the second highest concentration existed in the size fraction 0.4-1μm;the higher proportion(12%)of toxicmetals was produced by biomass combustion.The elemental composition of suspended dust and atmospheric particulate matter was close(except for As and Cd);the highest concentration of elements was all noted in PM_(2.5-10)(PM3-10).Potassium was found to be one of the main biomass markers.The proportion of Cu in suspended dust is significantly lower than that of atmospheric particulate matter(0.53%and 3.75%),which indicates that there are other anthropogenic sources.The EFs analysis showed that the Cr,Cu,Zn,and Pb produced by biomass combustion were highly enriched(EFs>100)in all particle sizes.The EFs of most trace elements increased with decreasing particle size,indicating the greater influence of humanfactors on smaller particles.
文摘Growth-defense tradeoffs are thought to occur in plants due to resource restrictions, which demand prior- itization towards either growth or defense, depending on external and internal factors. These tradeoffs have profound implications in agriculture and natural ecosystems, as both processes are vital for plant survival, reproduction, and, ulti- mately, plant fitness. While many of the molecular mechanisms underlying growth and defense tradeoffs remain to be elucidated, hormone crosstalk has emerged as a major player in regulating tradeoffs needed to achieve a balance. In this review, we cover recent advances in understanding growth-defense tradeoffs in plants as well as what is known regard- ing the underlying molecular mechanisms. Specifically, we address evidence supporting the growth-defense tradeoff concept, as well as known interactions between defense signaling and growth signaling. Understanding the molecular basis of these tradeoffs in plants should provide a foundation for the development of breeding strategies that optimize the growth-defense balance to maximize crop yield to meet rising global food and biofuel demands.
