Manually picking regularly and densely distributed first breaks(FBs)are critical for shallow velocitymodel building in seismic data processing.However,it is time consuming.We employ the fullyconvolutional Seg Net to a...Manually picking regularly and densely distributed first breaks(FBs)are critical for shallow velocitymodel building in seismic data processing.However,it is time consuming.We employ the fullyconvolutional Seg Net to address this issue and present a fast automatic seismic waveform classification method to pick densely-sampled FBs directly from common-shot gathers with sparsely distributed traces.Through feeding a large number of representative shot gathers with missing traces and the corresponding binary labels segmented by manually interpreted fully-sampled FBs,we can obtain a welltrained Seg Net model.When any unseen gather including the one with irregular trace spacing is inputted,the Seg Net can output the probability distribution of different categories for waveform classification.Then FBs can be picked by locating the boundaries between one class on post-FBs data and the other on pre-FBs background.Two land datasets with each over 2000 shots are adopted to illustrate that one well-trained 25-layer Seg Net can favorably classify waveform and further pick fully-sampled FBs verified by the manually-derived ones,even when the proportion of randomly missing traces reaches50%,21 traces are missing consecutively,or traces are missing regularly.展开更多
An important application of spectral decomposition(SD)is to identify subsurface geological anomalies such as channels and karst caves,which may be buried in full-band seismic data.However,the classical SD methods incl...An important application of spectral decomposition(SD)is to identify subsurface geological anomalies such as channels and karst caves,which may be buried in full-band seismic data.However,the classical SD methods including the wavelet transform(WT)are often limited by relatively low time-frequency resolution,which is responsible for false high horizonassociated space resolution probably indicating more geological structures,especially when close geological anomalies exist.To address this issue,we impose a constraint of minimizing an lp(0<p<1)norm of time-frequency spectral coefficients on the misfit derived by using the inverse WT and apply the generalized iterated shrinkage algorithm to invert for the optimal coefficients.Compared with the WT and inverse SD(ISD)using a typical l1-norm constraint,the modified ISD(MISD)using an lp-norm constraint can yield a more compact spectrum contributing to detect the distributions of close geological features.We design a 3 D synthetic dataset involving frequency-close thin geological anomalies and the other3 D non-stationary dataset involving time-close anomalies to demonstrate the effectiveness of MISD.The application of 4 D spectrum on a 3 D real dataset with an area of approximately 230 km2 illustrates its potential for detecting deep channels and the karst slope fracture zone.展开更多

Several earlier studies in vitro have indicated that AP has anti-aging activities, however the mechanism underlyling these activities was unclear and remained to be elucidated. In this study, Using the zebrafish (Danio rerio), we evaluated molecular mechanism of the effect of AP on zebrafish growth, development and apoptosis. 30 zebrafish embryos (24 hours post fertilization (hpf)) were exposed to varying concentrations of AP (from 0.125 mg/ml to 0. 5 mg/ml) continuously for 3 days. The results of β-galactosidase (SA-β-gal) and acridine orange fluorescence showed that AP can delay zebrafish embryos apoptosis under the concentration of 0.125 mg/ml. In addition, the differential gene expression of AP treated zebrafish embryos was examined by RT-PCR analysis. We found that the gene expression of mdm2 and tert were up-regulated while bax, p21 and p53 gene expression were down-regulated during early apoptosis of the zebrafish embryos mediated by AP. These results demonstrated that AP may play a role during the induction of senescence and this function might by p53-mediated pathway.展开更多

In this work, we synthesized Ni-doped BiVO 4 abundant with V 4+ species and oxygen defects through an in situ electrodeposition method. The eff ective doping can decrease the particle size of BiVO 4 and lead to the formation of V 4+ species/oxygen defects. Accordingly, the doped and defective BiVO 4 showed high optical absorption and rapid charge transfer, and further showed much higher PEC activity than pure BiVO 4 . Specifi cally, 5-Ni-BiVO 4 exhibits the highest activity in PEC water splitting, with a photocurrent of 2.39 mA/cm 2 at 1.23 V versus RHE (the reversible hydrogen electrode), which is 2.5 times higher than pure BiVO 4 (0.94 mA/cm 2 ), and much higher incident photon-to-current effi ciency (IPCE) value of 45%(while only 25% for BiVO 4 at ca. 400 nm). This work provides an in situ method for the development of a high-performance photoanode.展开更多
Soluble sugar is a key quality trait of soybean seeds.We developed rapid and economic extraction and quantification methods for seed soluble sugars using an ultra-high performance liquid chromatography system with a r...Soluble sugar is a key quality trait of soybean seeds.We developed rapid and economic extraction and quantification methods for seed soluble sugars using an ultra-high performance liquid chromatography system with a refractive index detector.We evaluated the soluble sugar compositions of 1164 soybean accessions collected from diverse ecoregions and grown in multiple locations and years.Total soluble sugar(TSS)content was influenced by accession type,year of cultivation,and ecoregion.The mean contents of fructose,glucose,sucrose,raffinose,stachyose and TSS were 3.31,5.21,55.60,6.60,35.47,and 106.19 mg g^(-1),respectively.The highest mean TSS content(108.71 mg g^(-1)) was observed in accessions from Northern Region of China.Cultivars contained higher contents of sucrose,raffinose,and TSS,whereas landraces had a higher content of stachyose.Fourteen accessions with mean TSS contents>130 mg g^(-1) were identified as elite soybean resources.TSS was correlated with sucrose,raffinose,stachyose,protein,oil and total tocopherol.The main soluble sugar components were correlated with latitude and longitude,indicating that the geographical origin of the accessions affected their seed soluble sugar compositions.The developed methods and elite identified accessions can be used in the food and feed industry and in soybean breeding programs aimed at improving soybean seed nutrition.展开更多

Pulmonary fibrosis(PF)is the pathological structure of incurable fibroproliferative lung diseases that are attributed to the repeated lung injury-caused failure of lung alveolar regeneration(LAR).Here,we report that r...Pulmonary fibrosis(PF)is the pathological structure of incurable fibroproliferative lung diseases that are attributed to the repeated lung injury-caused failure of lung alveolar regeneration(LAR).Here,we report that repetitive lung damage results in a progressive accumulation of the transcriptional repressor SLUG in alveolar epithelial type II cells(AEC2s).The abnormal increased SLUG inhibits AEC2s from self-renewal and differentiation into alveolar epithelial type I cells(AEC1s).We found that the elevated SLUG represses the expression of the phosphate transporter SLC34A2 in AEC2s,which reduces intracellular phosphate and represses the phosphorylation of JNK and P38 MAPK,two critical kinases supporting LAR,leading to LAR failure.TRIB3,a stress sensor,interacts with the E3 ligase MDM2 to suppress SLUG degradation in AEC2s by impeding MDM2-catalyzed SLUG ubiquitination.Targeting SLUG degradation by disturbing the TRIB3/MDM2 interaction using a new synthetic staple peptide restores LAR capacity and exhibits potent therapeutic efficacy against experimental PF.Our study reveals a mechanism of the TRIB3—MDM2—SLUG—SLC34A2 axis causing the LAR failure in PF,which confers a potential strategy for treating patients with fibroproliferative lung diseases.展开更多
Because switchable water is difficult to apply directly for oil removal,an enhanced approach to improve oil removal is proposed using a surfactant-free microemulsion(SFME)containing switchable water.The SFME is formed...Because switchable water is difficult to apply directly for oil removal,an enhanced approach to improve oil removal is proposed using a surfactant-free microemulsion(SFME)containing switchable water.The SFME is formed using switchable water(aqueous N,N-dimethylethanolamine(DMEA)or N,N-dimethylbutylamine(BDEA))and a hydrophobic amine(N-butyldiethanolamine(DMBA)).The single-phase region for preparing the SFME is determined using a ternary phase diagram,and the microstructure types are distinguished using the con-ductivity method.The pH changes and dynamic laser scattering test results demonstrate that the SFME exhibits irreversible transformation behavior regulated by CO_(2).Moreover,the recovered SFME containing BDEA has a microstructure with a smaller particle size after removing the CO_(2) by bubbling N 2 at 65°C,which is attributed to the higher proportion of DMEA than that of BDEA.In addition,dodecane and diesel oil are shown to dissolve in the SFME,and the oil solubility of the SFME increases with increasing oil phase(DMBA)content.The interface free energy theory reveals that the oil is more easily detached with the addition of SFME than with switchable water only owing to the reduced interface free energy of oil on the solid surface.Thus,an enhanced approach for removing oil is proposed to wash oil sands,where the oil removal efficiency of switchable water can be improved by using SFMEs containing switchable water.展开更多

Inflammation was considered to play a role in the whole process of AS. This study aimed to analyze the relationships of inflammatory factors and risk factors with different target organ damages (TOD) in essential hypertension (EH) patients and to explore its clinical significance. Methods: A total of 294 EH patients were selected and divided into four groups according to their conditions of TOD. Forty-eight healthy subjects were selected as control. The clinical biochemical parameters, serum amyloid A, serum tryptase, and lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2) in each group were detected, and the related risk factors were also statistically analyzed. Results: Fihrinogen (Fbg) was the most significant independent risk factor in acute coronary syndrome (ACS) group (odds ratio [OR]: 22.242, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 6.458-76.609, P 〈 0.001) with the largest absolute value of the standardized partial regression coefficient B' (b': 1.079). Lp-PLA2 was the most significant independent risk factor in stroke group (OR: 13.699, 95% CI: 5.236-35.837, P 〈 0.001) with b" 0.708. Uric acid (UA) was the most significant independent risk factor in renal damage group (OR: 15.307, 95% CI:4.022 58.250, P〈0.001)with b'= 1.026. Conclusions: Fbg, Lp-PLA2, and UA are the strongest independent risk factors toward the occurrence of ACS, ischemic stroke, and renal damage in EH patients, thus exhibiting the greatest impacts on the occurrence ofACS, ischemic stroke, and renal damage in EH patients, respectively.展开更多
Pt-based magnetic nano catalysts are one of the most suitable cand idates for electrocatalytic materials due to their high electrochemistry activity and retrievability.Unfortunately,the inferior durability prevents th...Pt-based magnetic nano catalysts are one of the most suitable cand idates for electrocatalytic materials due to their high electrochemistry activity and retrievability.Unfortunately,the inferior durability prevents them from being scaled-up,limiting their commercial applications.Herein,an antiferromagnetic element Mn was introduced into PtCo nanostructured alloy to synthesize uniform Mn-PtCo truncated octahedral nanoparticles(TONPs)by one-pot method.Our results show that Mn can tune the blocking temperature of Mn-PtCo TONPs due to its an tiferromag netism.At low temperatures,Mn-PtCo TONPs are ferromag netic,and the coercivity in creases gradually with in creasi ng Mn contents.At room temperature,the Mn-PtCo TONPs display superparamag netic behavior,which is greatly helpful for in dustrial recycling.Mn doping can not only modify the electronic structure of PtCo TONPs but also enhanee electrocatalytic performance for methanol oxidation reaction.The maximum specific activity of Mn-PtCo-3 reaches 8.1 A`m^-2,3.6 times of commercial Pt/C(2.2 A·m^-2)and 1.4 times of PtCo TONPs(5.6 A`m^-2),respectively.The mass activity decreases by only 30%after 2,000 cycles,while it is 45%and 99%(nearly inactive)for PtCo TONPs and commercial Pt/C catalysts,respectively.展开更多
Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) and cellular Src (cSrc) are closely associated with inflammatory cytokines and oxidative stress in hypertension, so we designed this study to explore the exact role of c-Src in the mechanis...Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) and cellular Src (cSrc) are closely associated with inflammatory cytokines and oxidative stress in hypertension, so we designed this study to explore the exact role of c-Src in the mechanism of action of the TLR4 signaling pathway in salt-induced hypertension. Salt-sensitive rats were given a high salt diet for 10 weeks to induce hypertension. This resulted in higher levels of TLR4, activated c-Src, pro-inflammatory cytokines, oxidative stress, and arterial pressure. Infusion of a TLR4 blocker into the hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus (PVN) decreased the activated c-Src, while microinjection of a c-Src inhibitor attenuated the PVN levels of nuclear factor-kappa B, pro-inflammatory cytokines, and oxidative stress. Our findings suggest that a longterm high-salt diet increases TLR4 expression in the PVN and this promotes the activation of c-Src, which upregulates the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines and results in the overproduction of reactive oxygen species.Therefore, inhibiting central c-Src activity may be a new target for treating hypertension.展开更多

The length and weight of mature females are over twice greater than those of mature males. To obtain sufficient information on gonad differentiation and the relationship between gonad development and growth in the fish, we compared gene expression between the ovary and testis using suppression subtractive hybridization (SSH). Testis cDNAs are subtracted from ovary cDNAs and are used to es- tablish an ovary testis-subtracted cDNA library. A total of 41 nonredundant clones are identified, including 20 known cDNAs, 9 unchar-acterized cDNAs (EST clones), and 12 novel sequences. For selected genes such as ZPC, RacGAP, survivin, aquaporin, CPEB, O5, O15, and O18, gene expression patterns are analyzed by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). The results confirm that these genes are only expressed in the ovary and not in the testis, or at higher levels in the ovary than in the testis. At the same time, expressions of certain genes such as ZPC, survivin, aquaporin, CPEB, and O15 are demonstrated to possess sexual dimorphism in the kidney or muscle, and spleen. The results suggest that these genes could play key roles not only in the ovary but in other female tissues as well.展开更多

Specifi cally, 5-Ni-BiVO 4 exhibits the highest activity in PEC water splitting, with a photocurrent of 2.39 mA/cm 2 at 1.23 V versus RHE (the reversible hydrogen electrode), which is 2.5 times higher than pure BiVO 4 (0.94 mA/cm 2 ), and much higher incident photon-to-current effi ciency (IPCE) value of 45%(while only 25% for BiVO 4 at ca. 400 nm). This work provides an in situ method for the development of a high-performance photoanode.

文摘Soluble sugar is a key quality trait of soybean seeds.We developed rapid and economic extraction and quantification methods for seed soluble sugars using an ultra-high performance liquid chromatography system with a refractive index detector.We evaluated the soluble sugar compositions of 1164 soybean accessions collected from diverse ecoregions and grown in multiple locations and years.Total soluble sugar(TSS)content was influenced by accession type,year of cultivation,and ecoregion.The mean contents of fructose,glucose,sucrose,raffinose,stachyose and TSS were 3.31,5.21,55.60,6.60,35.47,and 106.19 mg g^(-1),respectively.The highest mean TSS content(108.71 mg g^(-1)) was observed in accessions from Northern Region of China.Cultivars contained higher contents of sucrose,raffinose,and TSS,whereas landraces had a higher content of stachyose.Fourteen accessions with mean TSS contents>130 mg g^(-1) were identified as elite soybean resources.TSS was correlated with sucrose,raffinose,stachyose,protein,oil and total tocopherol.The main soluble sugar components were correlated with latitude and longitude,indicating that the geographical origin of the accessions affected their seed soluble sugar compositions.The developed methods and elite identified accessions can be used in the food and feed industry and in soybean breeding programs aimed at improving soybean seed nutrition.
文摘Objective:To explore the clinical method and effect of 3D printing in the treatment of cerebral aneurysms.Methods:The authors research work on the hospital,work time in February 2019-February 2020,this study selected patients of cerebral aneurysms,this period are selected for treatment of 100 cases of patients,randomly divided into two groups,a group to give simple intervention,named as the control group,another group for the interventional therapy under the guidance of 3 D printing,named as experimental group,analyze the effect of two groups of patients with clinical intervention.Results:The length of hospital stay in the experimental group was shorter than that in the control group.Meanwhile,the incidence of complications and adverse reactions in the experimental group and the control group were 6.00%and 18.00%,the experimental group was better(P<0.05).Conclusion:3D printing technology can be applied in the treatment of patients with cerebral aneurysms to provide guidance for interventional surgical treatment.It has significant effect,can reduce the incidence complications in patients,has significant clinical effect,and can be popularized.
文摘Objective:To investigate the clinical effects of applying the magnetic resonance double mismatch technique to endovascular treatment of acute anterior circulation,large vessel occlusion with cerebral infarction in an unknown time window.Methods:The research work was carried out in our hospital,the work was carried out from November 2018 to November 2019,the patients with acute anterior circulation large vessel occlusion with cerebral infarction who were treated in our hospital during this period,100 patients,50 patients with an unknown time window and 50 patients with definite time window were selected,and they were named as the experimental and control groups,given different examination methods,were given to investigate the clinical treatment effect.Results:Patients’data on HIHSS score before treatment,the incidence of intracranial hemorrhage and rate of Mrs≤2 rating after 90 days of treatment were not significantly different(P>0.05),which was not meaningful.The differences in data between the two groups concerning HIHSS scores were relatively significant before,and after treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion:The magnetic resonance double mismatch technique will be applied in the endovascular treatment of acute anterior circulation large vessel occlusion with cerebral infarction of unknown time window.

文摘To the Editor:Pulmonary vein antral isolation(PVAI)is the cornerstone of catheter ablation techniques used in the treatment of patients with atrial fibrillation(AF).However,the outcomes of a PVAI-only strategy for persistent AF have proven suboptimal.The majority of patients with persistent AF may require further atrial ablation beyond PVAI.Ablation of AF drivers,a patient-tailored ablation strategy for persistent AF with a procedural endpoint of AF termination,has garnered increasing attention in recent years.[1]We aimed to determine the electrogram(EGM)characteristics of AF drivers that can predict AF termination.

文摘Pulmonary fibrosis(PF)is the pathological structure of incurable fibroproliferative lung diseases that are attributed to the repeated lung injury-caused failure of lung alveolar regeneration(LAR).Here,we report that repetitive lung damage results in a progressive accumulation of the transcriptional repressor SLUG in alveolar epithelial type II cells(AEC2s).The abnormal increased SLUG inhibits AEC2s from self-renewal and differentiation into alveolar epithelial type I cells(AEC1s).We found that the elevated SLUG represses the expression of the phosphate transporter SLC34A2 in AEC2s,which reduces intracellular phosphate and represses the phosphorylation of JNK and P38 MAPK,two critical kinases supporting LAR,leading to LAR failure.TRIB3,a stress sensor,interacts with the E3 ligase MDM2 to suppress SLUG degradation in AEC2s by impeding MDM2-catalyzed SLUG ubiquitination.Targeting SLUG degradation by disturbing the TRIB3/MDM2 interaction using a new synthetic staple peptide restores LAR capacity and exhibits potent therapeutic efficacy against experimental PF.Our study reveals a mechanism of the TRIB3—MDM2—SLUG—SLC34A2 axis causing the LAR failure in PF,which confers a potential strategy for treating patients with fibroproliferative lung diseases.

文摘Because switchable water is difficult to apply directly for oil removal,an enhanced approach to improve oil removal is proposed using a surfactant-free microemulsion(SFME)containing switchable water.The SFME is formed using switchable water(aqueous N,N-dimethylethanolamine(DMEA)or N,N-dimethylbutylamine(BDEA))and a hydrophobic amine(N-butyldiethanolamine(DMBA)).The single-phase region for preparing the SFME is determined using a ternary phase diagram,and the microstructure types are distinguished using the con-ductivity method.The pH changes and dynamic laser scattering test results demonstrate that the SFME exhibits irreversible transformation behavior regulated by CO_(2).Moreover,the recovered SFME containing BDEA has a microstructure with a smaller particle size after removing the CO_(2) by bubbling N 2 at 65°C,which is attributed to the higher proportion of DMEA than that of BDEA.In addition,dodecane and diesel oil are shown to dissolve in the SFME,and the oil solubility of the SFME increases with increasing oil phase(DMBA)content.The interface free energy theory reveals that the oil is more easily detached with the addition of SFME than with switchable water only owing to the reduced interface free energy of oil on the solid surface.Thus,an enhanced approach for removing oil is proposed to wash oil sands,where the oil removal efficiency of switchable water can be improved by using SFMEs containing switchable water.

文摘To the Editor:Malignant hyperthermia(MH)is a pharmacogenetic disorder of skeletal muscles that presents as an acute hypermetabolic state triggered by depolarizing muscle relaxants and volatile anesthetics in susceptible individuals.[1]The reported incidence of MH reaction ranged from 1:250,000 to 1:10,000.[1]However,the exact incidence in the Asian population remains unknown.A recent report suggested that the incidence of MH in Japan was 1 to 2 per 100,000 anesthetics,[2]which was similar to that in Western countries.In China,there are only a few reported cases,which may be attributed to incomplete records,and the actual incidence might be higher.[3,4]In China,between January 1978 and March 2004,only 34 cases of MH were recorded.[5]Due to the lack of the effective drug dantrolene,the mortality rate at that time was 73.5%.[5]Here,we reported the onset and treatment of a patient with suspected MH.
文摘Background: Atherosclerosis (AS) is an inflammatory disease. Inflammation was considered to play a role in the whole process of AS. This study aimed to analyze the relationships of inflammatory factors and risk factors with different target organ damages (TOD) in essential hypertension (EH) patients and to explore its clinical significance. Methods: A total of 294 EH patients were selected and divided into four groups according to their conditions of TOD. Forty-eight healthy subjects were selected as control. The clinical biochemical parameters, serum amyloid A, serum tryptase, and lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2) in each group were detected, and the related risk factors were also statistically analyzed. Results: Fihrinogen (Fbg) was the most significant independent risk factor in acute coronary syndrome (ACS) group (odds ratio [OR]: 22.242, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 6.458-76.609, P 〈 0.001) with the largest absolute value of the standardized partial regression coefficient B' (b': 1.079). Lp-PLA2 was the most significant independent risk factor in stroke group (OR: 13.699, 95% CI: 5.236-35.837, P 〈 0.001) with b" 0.708. Uric acid (UA) was the most significant independent risk factor in renal damage group (OR: 15.307, 95% CI:4.022 58.250, P〈0.001)with b'= 1.026. Conclusions: Fbg, Lp-PLA2, and UA are the strongest independent risk factors toward the occurrence of ACS, ischemic stroke, and renal damage in EH patients, thus exhibiting the greatest impacts on the occurrence ofACS, ischemic stroke, and renal damage in EH patients, respectively.

文摘Pt-based magnetic nano catalysts are one of the most suitable cand idates for electrocatalytic materials due to their high electrochemistry activity and retrievability.Unfortunately,the inferior durability prevents them from being scaled-up,limiting their commercial applications.Herein,an antiferromagnetic element Mn was introduced into PtCo nanostructured alloy to synthesize uniform Mn-PtCo truncated octahedral nanoparticles(TONPs)by one-pot method.Our results show that Mn can tune the blocking temperature of Mn-PtCo TONPs due to its an tiferromag netism.At low temperatures,Mn-PtCo TONPs are ferromag netic,and the coercivity in creases gradually with in creasi ng Mn contents.At room temperature,the Mn-PtCo TONPs display superparamag netic behavior,which is greatly helpful for in dustrial recycling.Mn doping can not only modify the electronic structure of PtCo TONPs but also enhanee electrocatalytic performance for methanol oxidation reaction.The maximum specific activity of Mn-PtCo-3 reaches 8.1 A`m^-2,3.6 times of commercial Pt/C(2.2 A·m^-2)and 1.4 times of PtCo TONPs(5.6 A`m^-2),respectively.The mass activity decreases by only 30%after 2,000 cycles,while it is 45%and 99%(nearly inactive)for PtCo TONPs and commercial Pt/C catalysts,respectively.

文摘Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) and cellular Src (cSrc) are closely associated with inflammatory cytokines and oxidative stress in hypertension, so we designed this study to explore the exact role of c-Src in the mechanism of action of the TLR4 signaling pathway in salt-induced hypertension. Salt-sensitive rats were given a high salt diet for 10 weeks to induce hypertension. This resulted in higher levels of TLR4, activated c-Src, pro-inflammatory cytokines, oxidative stress, and arterial pressure. Infusion of a TLR4 blocker into the hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus (PVN) decreased the activated c-Src, while microinjection of a c-Src inhibitor attenuated the PVN levels of nuclear factor-kappa B, pro-inflammatory cytokines, and oxidative stress. Our findings suggest that a longterm high-salt diet increases TLR4 expression in the PVN and this promotes the activation of c-Src, which upregulates the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines and results in the overproduction of reactive oxygen species.Therefore, inhibiting central c-Src activity may be a new target for treating hypertension.

文摘Half-smooth tongue sole (Cynoglossus semilaevis) is a rare marine flatfish whose mature ovary and testis greatly differ in volume and weight. The length and weight of mature females are over twice greater than those of mature males. To obtain sufficient information on gonad differentiation and the relationship between gonad development and growth in the fish, we compared gene expression between the ovary and testis using suppression subtractive hybridization (SSH). Testis cDNAs are subtracted from ovary cDNAs and are used to es- tablish an ovary testis-subtracted cDNA library. A total of 41 nonredundant clones are identified, including 20 known cDNAs, 9 unchar-acterized cDNAs (EST clones), and 12 novel sequences. For selected genes such as ZPC, RacGAP, survivin, aquaporin, CPEB, O5, O15, and O18, gene expression patterns are analyzed by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). The results confirm that these genes are only expressed in the ovary and not in the testis, or at higher levels in the ovary than in the testis. At the same time, expressions of certain genes such as ZPC, survivin, aquaporin, CPEB, and O15 are demonstrated to possess sexual dimorphism in the kidney or muscle, and spleen. The results suggest that these genes could play key roles not only in the ovary but in other female tissues as well.

文摘One of the difficulties of a multiplexed analytical assay is matching the concentration range of different markers.Here,the authors develop an automatic,multiplexed point-of-care(POC)immunoassay that allows detecting C-reactive protein(CRP),procalcitonin(PCT),and interleukin 6(IL-6)in 50μL serum samples with limits of detection 1.87μg/mL,0.17 ng/mL,and 49.75 pg/mL,respectively.The authors use electrospun fibers and surface chemistry of gold nanoparticles(AuNPs)to adjust the detection range of different biomarkers.The authors have proposed some new diagnostic indicators(mScore and mScorePlus)that combine the results of CRP,PCT,IL-6,and complete blood counts(CBCs).The authors also tracked changes in CRP,PCT,and IL-6 of patients in an intensive care unit(ICU).The authors find that mScore and mScorePlus have advantages in improving the diagnostic accuracy and providing more analytical information.mScore and mScorePlus are effective tools to detect infections,differentiate bacterial and viral infections,and monitor disease.Integrating multiple markers into one straightforward parameter is an effective method for analytical applications.The authors believe that this method provides a general way for chemists to develop increasingly accurate detection methods and indicators.
