Aqueous zinc-ion batteries are promising due to inherent safety,low cost,low toxicity,and high volumetric capacity.However,issues of dendrites and side reactions between zinc metal anode and the electrolyte need to be solved for extended storage and cycle life.Here,we proposed that an electrolyte additive with an intermediate chelation strength of zinc ion—strong enough to exclude water molecules from the zinc metal-electrolyte interface and not too strong to cause a significant energy barrier for zinc ion dissociation—can benefit the electrochemical stability by suppressing hydrogen evolution reaction,overpotential growth,and den-drite formation.Penta-sodium diethylene-triaminepentaacetic acid salt was selected for such a purpose.It has a suitable chelating ability in aqueous solutions to adjust solvation sheath and can be readily polarized under electrical loading conditions to further improve the passivation.Zn||Zn symmetric cells can be stably operated over 3500 h at 1 mA cm^(-2).Zn||NH4V4O10 full cells with the additive show great cycling stability with 84.6%capacity retention after 500 cycles at 1 A g^(-1).Since the additive not only reduces H2 evolution and corrosion but also modifies Zn2+diffusion and deposition,highlyreversible Zn electrodes can be achieved as verified by the experimental results.Our work offers a practical approach to the logical design of reliable electrolytes for high-performance aqueous batteries. 展开更多

Enhanced terahertz wave generation via a Stokes cascade process has been demonstrated using picosecond pulse pumped terahertz parametric generation at 1 kHz repetition rate.Clear cascade saturation of terahertz output was observed,and the corresponding cascade-Stokes spectra were analyzed.The maximum terahertz wave average power was 22μW under a pump power of 30 W,whereas the maximum power conversion efficiency was 8×10^(-7)under a pump power of 21 W.The THz power fluctuation was measured to be about 1%in 20 min.This THz parametric source with a relatively stable output is suitable for a variety of practical applications. 展开更多

Recently,the composite of soft conductive substrates,such as carbon fiber(CF),with metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)has been employed in a myriad of applications.The composite material has demonstrated exceptional potential in the realm of electrochemical sensing platforms.However,the rapid growth of MOFs on the surface of CF remains a challenge.Herein,we propose a simple galvanostatic method as an effective strategy for rapidly growing zeolitic imidazolate frameworks(ZIFs)on CF,and obtain nanocaltrop-like ZIFs modified CF(NC-ZIFs/CF)glucose(Glu)sensor platform with distinctive morphology.The prepared NC-ZIFs/CF demonstrated significant electrocatalytic activity towards the oxidation of Glu in alkaline media,characterized by a pronounced augmentation in oxidation current density.At an applied potential of 0.4 V,NC-ZIFs/CF exhibited a remarkably broad detection range(3–30,000μmol/L)and demonstrated outstanding selectivity,repeatability and reproducibility.Additionally,the NC-ZIFs/CF was efficaciously employed for the detection of blood Glu levels in the serum of both normoglycemic and hyperglycemic patients,obtaining highly reliable results.This work demonstrates the feasibility of using galvanostatic method assembly to induce the growth of MOFs on conductive substrates,providing new ideas for electrocatalysis sensors and other electrochemical applications. 展开更多
