Three CBF genes organized in tandem, named OsCBF1, OsCBF2 and OsCBF3, showed a transient induction in the process of cold acclimation, much stronger in indica rice 93-11 compared with japonica rice Nipponbare. The candidate downstream genes OsLIP5 and OsLIP9 were induced in 93-11 but not in Nipponbare. The differential expression of CBF regulon might be caused by polymorphisms within promoter sequences between these two rice varieties. These results could be useful for utilization of CBF/DREB1 genes and illustration of differences in chilling tolerance between indica and japonica rice varieties.展开更多

In 2017, the Hunan Crop Variety Examination and Approval Committee approved Bangcangjingnuo. The breeding process of this cultivar was expounded in this study. This cultivar is highly glutinous and waxy, it produces a stable high yield, and it possesses the quality of low temperature resistance. The theoretical yield of Bangcangjingnuo is 8 731.5 kg/hm^2, and the actual output is about 7 422.0 kg/hm^2 according to the 85% discount. Finally, we described the main points of cultivation technique from the perspectives of timely planting and strict seed sterilization.展开更多

[ Method] A total of 270 healthy laying ducks were randomly divided into throe groups, 90 ducks in each group. The ducks in the control group, group I and group II were fed common basal diet, basal diet containing 10 g/kg Cordyceps feed additive and basal diet containing 40 g/kg Cordyceps feed additive, respectively. The trial lasted for 28 d. During the whole trial, the ducks were weighed and their growth was observed at an interval of 7 d. The exterior quality and the nutritive indexes of duck eggs were determined. [ Result] After experiments, the body weights of ducks in the group I and group II were increased and higher than that of the control group. In the group I and group II, the laying rate was increased by 1.07% and 2.15%, respectively; the egg weight was increased by 3.95% and 4.16%, respectively; and the feed to egg ratio was decreased by 2.54% and 4.23%, respectively. The egg shape and eggshell thickness were consistent between the control group and experimental groups. In the group I and group II, the protein content of the duck eggs was increased by 5.55% and 17.15%, respectively; the cholesterol content was decreased by 11.79% and 42.14%, respectively; the IgY level was increased by 13.20% and 27.97%, respectively; and the lecithin content was increased by 5.13% and 11.69%, respectively. [Condusion] The Cordyceps feed additive can increase the body weight and laying rate of laying ducks and improve the quality of duck eggs.展开更多

In this study, Gumei 2, a rice variety carrying broad-spectrum resistant Pi25 gene, was used as the donor, with Xiangwanxian 13 taken as the receptor and recurrent parent which is also of good quality but highly susceptible to rice blast, to improve the rice blast resistance of Xiangwanxian 13 by crossing and backcrossing based on molecular marker-assisted selection. The results showed that the resistance of the improved strains (i.e. Xiang C72, Xiang C76 and Xiang C77) to blast diseases had been enhanced signifcantly through feld resistance identifcation, equaling the resistance level of Gumei 2, and the main agronomic and quality-related traits of these improved strains had been restored to the level of Xiangwanxian 13, except the chalkiness and cooking-related traits, which suggested similar genomic loci of Xiang C72, Xiang C76 and Xiang C77 to those of Xiangwanxian 13. These three improved strains (i.e. Xiang C72, Xiang C76 and Xiang C77) can provide good intermediate materials for breeding elite varieties with high grain yields and superior blast resistance.展开更多
